Sodbuster...and lots of them!

Yes she does. I saw it in the original time frame of the thread you reference and again today when it was refreshed.

This Jr. is the only one I have, however I won a case large one in a ebay auction the other day and the tracking says it's in transit by the pictures it seems to be in good shape and the tang stamp appears to be dating it between 1965 and 1969. I like to carry the one I have to me it's a great kind of an all purpose knife.

r redden, the Case Large Sodbuster first came out in 1968, so you got a very early one. And rare too i think. Oldest i have ever seen is 1970.

This is not exactly a Sod Buster but could be a distant relative in that it is farmer's work knife from the 1800's. Might also have been used for field dressing European Red Deer (similar to N.A. elk).

That's a cool-looking piece, KJ. A little scary, but still cool. Looks like something a Viking would use when he was pillaging your town.

This is my '70 Case sod CV!! It's crazy sharp and it holds the edge much more than other carbon blades

I will post a picture here when I receive it.

Got the old large Sodbuster today and the pictures were a little deceiving. It is not a 60's knife but rather a 1972. I still like it going to clean it up put a little oil on the blade and stick it in my pocket. I also picked up this old yellow handle this morning.

So you all read I recently got a S&S Mudbug, right? Well, I have not been able to use it or carry it at all since it came, (heck it's still in the shipping box) because the wife made me promise it was for XMAS. She's holding it hostage until then. So...in the mean time I'm going to pick up a soddie the first chance I get. And I'm going to save my money so I can pickup a black micarta scaled Mudbug on their next run.

What the heck makes you think you can get a soddie by her now let alone another Mudbug later on. And how are you going to be able to save all the money for the Mudbug? Surely, she's got your piggy bank stash under her wing. I'd say in this case you've been soddied.

Good luck with your plan.

You ought to at least get her to let you take a picture of the Mudbug she is holding ransom so you can show your buds what's coming down the road.

Haha. I might be reaching a bit with the 2nd Mudbug, but I can save the money. Done it before, just have to sacrifice some lunch money here and there. Haha. But she'd cave on a 45 dollar case soddie if it's not too close to my last buy.
I'll see if I can get some pics. I got some tape handy.

EDIT: Pics added

My paper micarta Mudbug came in today, and I have to say, I haven't been this jazzed about a knife yet. I love large, thin, cool looking knives, and this one has that covered, BIG TIME!
