Sodbuster...and lots of them!

My paper micarta Mudbug came in today, and I have to say, I haven't been this jazzed about a knife yet. I love large, thin, cool looking knives, and this one has that covered, BIG TIME!

I love em too. Throw up a pic!

Well Tom, after looking at your last picture, the thought crossed my mind that maybe you could talk your wife into letting you have the knife now but wait and give you the sheath for X-Mas to tote it in.

Nice knife.

Large and small sodbusters in the traditional yellow handles. :D

errrrrrrrrrrrr, uh Jeff. They don't exactly match the intended theme of this thread but what the hey- Nice looking tools all around and the black accented handles really sets the yellow handles off.

Ed, As much as I want to use and carry this knife right now, I think it's in my best interest to wait. We made a deal, and I got the knife, so I should hold up my end. I'm still plotting the soddie and the black muddy though.

This thread just became the "show us your traditional garden tools" thread. Love it!

I will say it again. My gec 71 has not left my pocket since I have bought it. I can't stop saying how much this knife is one of the best made knives u can buy. No matter how hard I try to carry something else I can't. I carry 2 maybe 3 knives daily. And this is always one of them. Sometimes I wish that it had a more pointy blade so that is why I carry my gec 47. But then I never pull it out of my pocket. It's always the 71. For food prep. Work. Everything. And this year. Hopefully deer gutting. I can't say anything bad about it. Other than I wish it had the same blade profile as the 23 and the scout. Other than that. Nothing. It feels good in hand. It cuts well. It sharpens well. It sits in pocket well. And it does what it needs to. So if u need a knife that will never let u down. GEC 71 no matter how simple the knife is. U can not go wrong with this knife.

Here's a pic.
Back when it was new. It ain't this pretty anymore
It's prettier. :D
Patina'd blade, scratched up, and cuts in the end of the handle from using it to open bottles.
Gets WAY sharper than anything else I own.
I carry it frequently.

I wouldn't mind a Baby Mudbug too, as long as it could be as thin as the large one. This knife is really THIN, compared to the Case Sodbouster. Plus, I live in the larger knife camp. They just feel better in my hand.

Not to get all crazy......wait......ok, I will get all crazy. I like the largeness of the Mudbug for sure, but I really really enjoy a 3 inch or just under 3 inch blade. I'd need one for sure :D

By the way....that NP looks so good! Thanks for the pic.

Would this basically be a size comparison of a sod buster and a bull buster?
