Sodbuster...and lots of them!

Henkels hippekniep thanks to Jacknife Carl's GAW, Italian Stanley, Case cv and Case stainless.
I'm carrying the black one lately; I'm in one of those ascetic periods where one undertakes the spiritual exercise of simplifying one's knife life.

Great knives, and the one from Jack is great, just as he is.

That Stanley looks to have been made by Antonini knives, same as the Italian made Klass brown mules for a while before they were shipped to China.

I don't recall if any Mcnees sodbusters have been posted, but I don't think so. not many custom soddies have been posted in here actually, not because they haven't been welcome but most have just gravitated to posting the production versions.

thanks trevytrev , i've seen them listed here and there, but it's always nice to see different models, as at $4oo all i'm gonna be doin' is lookin'

I'd love to have a Kerry Hampton Knutbuster.

But the GEC Bull Nose and Bull Buster are both great Soddies.

I have both, and of course a Case Sodbuster too, so I am not suffering.

The Bull Buster is the knife I most often slip into my pocket when I'mm headed out coon hunting.

That's a handy dude.

When I got into Sodbusters, there were three makers that made custom Sodbusters that were considered the ones you would want to get if you went down that road, Keith Johnson, Gene Ingram and Kerry Hampton. Others that I've run across since then that seem to be top knotch are Wiseman and Oeser, just to name a couple.

A new sourcefor sodbuster-like : René Bol from Belgium "the Gembloutois" (borrowed the pic.)
Our best inspectors are on the track...

^ those are some good looking soddies.
I would eventually like to pick up a custom soddie. Until then I'm stuck with production or semi production.
All is good though. I like looking for my next knife and, who knows, it might be in some of the pics in this thread. Post up what you got, custom or not. Love it!!

It seems that I am finding my orange 71 in the rfp as of late.. Waiting on the canvas to drop!! John

If you go to Great Eastern's production schedule you will see that the Bullnoses are coming up and there are a few SFO versions being run. I haven't really said much but you will notice that a certain sodbuster nut has one in there:D (As a disclaimer, since he is not a dealer, and these threads are not for how to acquire or where to buy the knives, please keep any questions such as those to email or pm's only. )

Lots's a great handle choices coming, especially the 4 SFO's, and the steel is now 1095, no longer 01. Gonna be great for you soddie fans!

I have a Bull Nose in 01 and I like it a lot.

But to be honest, I carry the Bull Buster more often, especially out coon hunting, which I generally do several nights a week.

That is one handy knife.

Here's a pic.
Back when it was new. It ain't this pretty anymore
It's prettier. :D
Patina'd blade, scratched up, and cuts in the end of the handle from using it to open bottles.
Gets WAY sharper than anything else I own.
I carry it frequently.

Just scored one of these case CVs with factory edge, no blade play and no gaps for a dollar at a yard sale.

One Dollar! I like it already!
