Sodbuster...and lots of them!

I just received my #71 SUNBRIGHT OLE YELLER and it's basicly perfect. I can't post pics yet but it is alot more pale yellow than my #15 Beer Scout Knife in.Sunbright but very well centered and we'll put together. A very nice knife!

North of the 71 is a 21 in maroon micarta, south is a 15 beer scout sunbright, there is quiet a bit of difference in the two sunbrights.
North of all of them is an OLD TIMER 25OT for reference

A nice comparison shot! My daughter called Ole' Yeller a lemonade colored knife, I think it's a pretty good description.

I used my 71 to open grain bags and cut up sugar beets this afternoon around the stands. These things are filled with dirt, I'm really glad I was using the 71 as it really scratched the blade and I could care less!

Thanks Trevor for getting these done I really like mine. Think I'll have to leave it in the tube though just like my knife Brite #21

My orange delrin arrived today. Very nice. I was especially pleased with the sharpness out of the box. By far the best I have seen on a GEC produced knife.

Thanks Robert, glad you like it! I have the luxury of having a safe queen or two and then a user:D As I stated, I field dressed a deer with mine fresh out of the tube, which verifies dirtpig67's testament that they came with an edge!

Mine was pretty darn sharp out of the tube but just a couple of strokes on a sharpening steel turned it into an absolute scalpel. Fit and finish was excellent. No blade play or wobble at all. Perfectly centered blade when closed.

I field dressed one last week with my #21 but this is my first #71. They're a good design for skinning.

If they still made the SodBuster like the old ones with a High Carbon Steel Blade I would get one. As mine is pretty much now dead as the blade is so thin it is a hazard to open it lol. The downside is that if one does not take care of them they will rust but it was sure a good ole knife.

Are you talking about Case Sodbusters? They still come in CV steel and yellow Delrin handles...

The only sodbuster I have right now is a Queen Country Cousin in black, a really great beater. Comfortable handle and great steel. One of those Case Sodbuster Jrs in CV and jigged chestnut bone is extremely tempting, though. More gentlemanly than my Queen for sure.

Thanks JD! Would love to see the ones you have, feel free to post them in here! I'm always thrilled to see ones I don't have in my own collection!

Here you go....I had to find them.....They've never been sharpened as I can
tell, just need a good cleaning up.......I'll get another picture after I get em cleaned.....
They were in my display, but it's been taken down a couple years ago....So they've
been mixed in with old stuff/new stuff, all kinds stuff for couple years....I did not
see these 2 in your line-ups,but i may have missed them......Message me if you need
these 2 in your collection.....

Thank you sir, glad you like it! Nice group there!

Thanks for the pics, I think I have the work horse but let me check!

all of my GEC 71's together so far... I'm still going to get the new release ones since they were done in a different blade steel too. The addiction is real.

Note: The Maroon Micarta is really really dark. Even with pocket time it's not lightened up much.
