Sodbuster...and lots of them!

This is my first GEC "sodbuster", my only other experience with the pattern was a Case Sodbuster Jr in stainless. I really liked the Case so I was sure I'd love the GEC version. When this new run came out I knew I had to pick one up and see for myself, very glad I did. Great knife even though mine came a little rough around the edges. I've been carrying and using it quite a bit so it's starting to develop a nice little patina.

Out in the woods all weekend with my 71. This is an excellent knife. After a bit of patina the blade is plenty grippy enough to pinch open. I have already used this knife for some pretty tough chores and shows no signs of any wear beyond a patina.

Are the covers on that knife black delrin or black micarta? The way the light is reflecting, it looks like black micarta but I'm not quite sure.

Nice looking knife.

My new favorite single blade folder. Big sodbuster fan in training! ^^Thanks ED!

Welcome to the club! Ed's a card carrying member or the sodbuster nut club, he just got you hooked! Congrats to you and awesome gesture Ed:thumbup:

I finally got my 71 (as an Xmas gift). It is everything I hoped it would be. Very heavy pull, which is what I like. It's been in my pocket since Xmas morning. I really like my Case SBJ but, to be totally forthright, the 71, IMO is a bit more. I'm not knocking the SBJ......you all know what I'm saying right? :D

Oh, and I got my S&S Mudbug the same morning. Its a awesome SB!!

Christmas present from the wife. To me this is a hugh improvement over the standard Case Sodbuster. Much thinner handle profile, CV blade and beautiful jigged bone.

A fine gentleman gifted me this 71, and it arrived just in time to be tucked under the tree for Christmas. I've been carrying it everyday since. This is my first sod buster since winning the orange case sod buster Jr. in your November giveaway last year Trev, but I gave that one to my cousin for his first knife(to my knowledge he still has it). He had just started college, and believe it or not he didn't own a single pocket knife. Since I have enough steel to melt down and make a full size tank with I gave it to him. Plus I hadn't really caught on to traditionals yet.

But the bug is in full swing now. Now I'd like to try a larger 21.

The Sodbuster pattern is my go to work knife. The Orange Delrin Bull Nose has seen quite a bit of use, but lately I've been carrying the Osage Bull Buster as I have big mitts, and it fills my hand a little more. Just great plain 'ol working knives!

Awesome! My next one will have Micarta.

Nice additions everyone, looks like a Merry Christmas was had by many! Bighaze, you have my attention! Is that blued dyed canvas or is that denim? Either way, it will look nice and can't wait to see the finished product!

Also, it appears that Case will be releasing some new handle choices of the Sodbuster jr in SS, they are:
