Have to say, anybody poo-poing a Sodbuster might have to have their Traditionalist Card revoked
Certainly, there are plenty of patterns that I don't care for, usually based on aesthetics but the Sodbuster is an understated work-horse by definition. Simple, tough, functional and visually appealing too
. Interestingly enough, it's not a particularly old pattern, CASE I believe introduced it in the late 1960s based heavily on wood handled knives from Germany and Italy.
I'd really like to see GEC do another run of all steel Bull Busters but with Osage Orange wood scales that would be a nod to European origins using American skill and domestic wood, it's tough attractive material.
