Keeping on track is important, if this thread is not going to go on for 100 pages.

If you think that Spark was wrong to start the post, this is a chance to speak up, in keeping with the start of the thread.

If you think that Spark was right to start the post, you can show your support in this thread.

Attacks, or defenses of Mick Strider was for the other thread, which is closed. There were over a thousand posts on that thread, so at least a segment of the community weighed in.

I'm Switzerland. Love the BladeForums, it is like a second home, and appreciate Spark running it, and letting me be here. Like some SKI knives, and like Mick Strider. Pretty simple.

This thread is definitely not the place for stupid threats, chest thumping, discriminatory comments, or bluster. Save it for somewhere else, like Whine and Cheese, mind your manners, and pretend like the person that you are having a conversation with is standing in front of you.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Spark, have you confronted Mick face to face about this?

Seems to me that is what a real man would do. Now I am sure you have every reason why you haven't or why you won't, but hiding out behind your computer bad mouthing a guy under the guise of "exposing the truth" is really spineless.

If you are going to call a man a liar in front of his friends, customers and piers, the least you could do is have the decency to confront him face to face. The fact that you haven't speaks VOLUMES about what kind of man you are.

Hahaha, are you kidding me? I'm suppossed to fly across the country, and confront a guy who lied about his military service online? That's about the most retarded thing I've read and a pure farce of an argument. Mick Strider made his claims online. I called him on them, online. Saying I'm lacking in courage when I call a liar out is laughable, especially when he couldn't hack being called on his BS claims.

You want to call me spineless? Be my guest, Mr "I registered on BladeForums.com to call you a coward online". I've got zero to prove here, especially to a hypocrite. So, Mr. "Speaks Volumes" let me ask you something - where's Mick? If he's so brave and badass, and he's so right and I'm so wrong, why isn't he standing up for himself? If he's not lying, where's the documentation?

This is the question I'd love anyone to answer - if you are going to call me names, and say I was wrong for putting all this information together, you need to be willing to step forward and take a position: Is it ok to lie about your military service? Is it ok to pretend to be something you aren't? Is it right to encourage that behavior?

Because if you are calling me out, you are saying yes to each of those. And that says everything I need to know about you.

Who should go first? How about the first one to start mouthing off about what a badass Secret Squirrel he is?

So why did you take it upon yourself to post that original thread in the first place? I won't question your motivations, but I'd just like an answer to what your motivation was in the first place.

My motivation was posted repeatedly in the other threads. Here's some quotes, easily found:

The magazine articles don't make sense. The claims Mick Strider made don't make sense. The court documents state information that contradict what Mick Strider has claimed repeatedly, since 2000 until present.

I keep hearing comments about "oh, he made a mistake" and he "paid his dues" and "learned his lesson"

I have to wonder, when someone claims that they were to be sentenced to serve in Somalia 5 days ago, claims they were a combat vet in 2000, has multiple magazine articles describing them as Special Operations personnel, and none of this is born out by the facts... what lesson have they learned?

That it's ok to fabricate their history because people will defend them as long as they are charming enough?

That they can get away with it, because as long as they don't answer questions directly they can't be proven wrong? That being able to win in a fistfight negates backing up your argument? That there is no accountability for lying and pretending to be something you aren't?

What are we suppossed to believe here? What would a reasonable man believe?

I'll state this, straight up: I have never heard of a spinal damaged E1, who has been barred from reenlistment, being recruited into any Special Operations role. I have never heard of anyone ever being sentenced to Somalia with their pay kept as forfiet. It is my opinion that these statements are straight out lies, and anyone making these claims is lying throuhg their teeth. This opinion is shared by every other veteran I've asked thus far.

If it was anyone else making these claims, they would be ridiculed and excoriated. If I made claims like this, my reputation would be destroyed, and I would be rightly branded as a liar.

Anyone who disagrees with what I said can come find me at my shop, or through here. I'm not going to hide.

My bias, as it were, is against lies & deception.
As an intelligent man, I am biased against people who expect me to believe a bs story when evidence is provided disproving it.
As a veteran, I'm especially biased by people who lie about their service, claim combat action, and special qualifications that they didn't earn because it insults my service time and what I did. I'm extremely biased against those who use claims of Special Operations & combat experience to sell products named after REAL HEROS who died in the service of their country.
As a firearms owner, concealed carry advocate and machinegun & suppressor collector, I'm extremely biased against convicted felons claiming that they are carrying firearms on a regular basis.
As the owner of this site, I'm extremely biased against people who lie to me, and my members about their backgrounds and make a mockery out of this industry.

These are pretty clear and reasonable to me.

Who should go first? How about the first one to start mouthing off about what a badass Secret Squirrel he is?

It has been mentioned before that the ones who did the most tend to talk the least. It hasn't been mentioned as often that some of what might be fun to read is restricted information by law or by common sense. Not just personal good sense, but actual national interest. Why the chest thumpers don't realize this is pretty obvious.

Ironically, this most excellent advice did not last one minute before someone else was sent in to wave the same old flag again.

You really don't want to make anything remotely close to a death threat online, Sir. You might want to edit that.

So you've taken it upon yourself to right all the ills of the world.

Last time I looked (and I admit I look here a lot more than I post) several people have lost thousands of dollars by the likes of Dale Reif, Dale Chudzinski, Steve Corkum, etc, etc etc., and little has been done about it. Most commiting felonies against your customers. Let's spread the wealth around some, if your calling out liars cheats and thieves.

If your basing this whole thing on bombast and boast then Lynn Thompson should be right at the top as well.

I appreciate attempts at "truth" but this whole thing has turned into charecter assasination and now given the title of the thread that includes you too, Spark, among others...

So the whole endevour was highly counter productive.
