Special Bladeforums Buck?

And would Pete's be the place to order the Special the collective has agreed upon, or to custom order our own special ? Personally, I would prefer the former.

Would the knives coming out of Pete's be one designated Bladeforums knife, or would Pete just put the Bladeforums logo on whatever the customer wanted? I favor the idea of one Bladeforums knife produced by Pete's Custom Knife Shop. Knife model and blade steel by general consensus.

Thanks Joe Houser

If the collective could come to a concensus of the form of the knife, not knowing, but I would think Petes custom knife shoppe would be a good way to go. One could order the "BF special" all the details would be the same on all the knives.
Of course that would mean it would be a 110, bg42 blade, "dual thumb studs" (don't forget us leftys) Ti handles would be nice, tip up, fingergrooves or not,

There seems to be quite a bit of interest in this, go for it Joe and thanks from me also.

mike o.....My left-handed son just came into the computer room and agrees to employing the dual stud. Joe, which would keep costs down; The type of stud Chris Reeve uses, i.e., the type drilled laterally, or the disc type Emerson uses, drilled vertically ? I don't own any folding Bucks with thumb studs, so I'm not that familiar with the type Buck is equipped tooling-wise for....

OH JOY!!
Even the idea

of a 110 with an Ambi. thumb stud (without nailnotch) just makes me giddy!

I really hope we can make this knife a reality.

Joe, any progress on this knife being made?

There are usually three types of people:
1. Those that MAKE things happen;
2. Those that WATCH things happen;
3. Those who say, "Uh, did anything happen?"

Let's get this one to happen. Maybe a Buck 111, split the difference in size between the 110 and 112, slim the package down, Ti slabs, BG42 (of course) and a thumbstud, or two. (Vertically drilled Emerson style would be my preference.)

I just sold my last 532 and 501 Master Series today. I think the Dymondwood Handle with the Medallion was the most eligant of all the Buck knives. If anyone has ever seen the 103 that had the Scarlet Red handle they will know what I am talking about and I would suggest the 110, the 501 or the 532 with the Dymondwood cut patern on the handle, the Scarlet Red color and the BG42 Steel. I have no problem with a 110 either. It should have a Bladeforms Medallion inlay. The pocket clip and thumb stud are questionable since these would be collectors knives and unlikely to be carried. Buck should still have the patern for the Dymondwood scales. They only made684 of the 110's, 617 of the 501's and only 395 of the 532's in 1999 and sold them for a very reasonable price. Wholesale was in the $45.00 to $75.00 range. Bladeforums should be able to make a good deal with Buck Knives. If anyone needs a picture of a scarlet red handle Buck, I have one in my collection and I would be glad to send a picture to you. Perhaps Buck could even put on a Damascus blade and keep the price under $100.00. Spark, I am always looking for Limited Edition Buck knives so I do hope you can come up with something.

Harold

I like the red diamond wood idea...maybe even on a 112. A pocket clip would be out of place on a knife like that IMO, so how about a nice sheath that can be carried horizontally or vertically. Cordura would be nice so that those of us who plan to carry it don't have to worry about the leather causing the knife to tarnish. Even though we may not all agree on the same design, I'm sure that most will agree that the blade should be BG-42 or demascas.

I like the idea of red or maybe blue diamond wood handle on either a 110 or 112. The BG-42
is a must for blade steel! I hope Joe can make this happen!

Ok,

THe hard part is going to be finding a consensus. I am hearing that a 110, with some sort of specialty steel, with the Blade Forums logo. Maybe with diamondwood?
Am i pointed in the right direction?

Joe,

I think you are on the right track. A model 110 with BG-42 steel, Bladeforums logo and blue diamondwood scales.
