Now they are both 2 true working knives. Could they tell some history.NSD!!!!!! New Spey Day. Wonderful Sheffield example.
Rufus1949 saw this combined with an old lamb so we split it. Love it when life provides those perfect opportunities. Glad to add it to the collection. Also added a picture comparing it to the Catt I carried today which is 3 1/2 inches closed.

Absolutely, LeonNow they are both 2 true working knives. Could they tell some history.
That is a nice one!!! Still on the hunt for my first old spey Barlow.
Not sure it’s that popular. I know a lot of people that don’t find the blade to their liking. I think that speys as a secondary is pretty common. As a main blade the spey is rare. Ask me how I knowStrange ... the Spey (also budding/grafting and skinning) blade is popular.
Yet in 2018 the vote was to delete this blade from the Buck 301 Forum knife.
Makes zero or less sense ...
So many fantastic Spey bladed knives in this thread.
There are not many tasks that a thin behind the edge razor sharp spey cannot handle. Excellent hunting/skinning blades. Not sure it’s that popular. I know a lot of people that don’t find the blade to their liking.
I could not agree more, Leon. There are not many tasks that a thin behind the edge razor sharp spey cannot handle. Excellent hunting/skinning blades.
The 23 pattern is one of the more easily attainable patterns. I suspect it is because the size may be an issue for carry for most. Hope you find one.A spey is really close to a spear. I’m sure a lot of spears got turned into speys as the knife was used and sharpened. I had one GEC 23 with a spey secondary and I sold it, now I’d like another one because I’ve taken up deer hunting and they would be good for skinning.
Thanks, I’m sure one will turn up. I have quite a few of the single blade 23’s so I am not suffering, just thinking about gear for next hunting season.Hope you find one.

Thanks, JohnLove that bone.
One of my dream knives is a GEC 15 Farm Boy. Basically perfection in a knife. To me anyway. After I realized that they are impossible to get I commissioned this knife through K’ roo. O1 tool steel blade, bolsters, and spring. The covers are dyed Kudu bone.
