Splitback Whittlers at their Best!

It’s so so hard to pick out favourites out of ALL these stunning Knives in this Thread - the Whittler is such an beautiful pattern - it’s no wonder this Thread is filled with amazing knives that are so meticulously built!
In saying this P&G’s Schrade is quite the Phenomenal Knife. As Charlie said - the perfection in the build of that knife just shines out in the photos. That’s a very very nice Knife!
Dans big boy Whittler is a rare number and a pleasure to see. As mentioned it’s a bonus to see a Punch in the mix as well! That Punch is a very interesting Punch at that, I’m not sure if I have seen Keen Kutter use that one before? I know that KK have used Camillus’ Spiral Punch - or perhaps Camillus’ built those knives for KK I don’t know - but I sure would like some information on the Punch in that Jumbo Whittler! :)

Duncan, I am interested in them, but, not an in depth studier of punches, as are yourself and Charlie. I believe the punch on the whittler is considerably short. I also have a KK scout with, what I believe to be, an unused punch. I hope this is not considered a derailing of this thread, but, I have posted comparison pictures of the two. The "unused" punch measures 1 15/16" (from the bolster), and the shortened one measures 1 7/16". Also, I believe that the KKs with the Camillus spiral punch would most certainly have been made by Camillus.

I'm not sure how legit this one is, but it was sold to me as a factory sample with sambar stag covers and 24 karat gold filled etch. Fit and function are as they should be, except the blades are completely unsharpened. The stag is nicely matched and beautiful. Even if not as represented (who knows for sure??), it's a very nice knife that I did not overpay for. 3.84" closed.

No Swinden Key construction here. Interesting.

Whittlers have a magical aura!! They have been considered examples of the cutlers' art, and any custom maker will tell you that they are painstaking to make and finish!!
A joy to use, and wonderful just to coon finger:) and chicken eye, a full sized one is like carrying more than one knife in a compact package.
