Splitback Whittlers at their Best!

The old ones are the best in regards to the secondaries. So dainty and finely ground I say we will never see this type of skill in a modern factory slipjoint again. GEC may hopefully prove me wrong someday....
I had a look at my Wedged 3 blade Whittlers . All have fairly small Secondary Blades .
The Case Seahorse is not Wedged but very well made . No Blade Rubs .
My 1986 Cripple Creek is Wedged and very well made and has No Blade Rubs .

I have no other pics of the wedge , but you can make out that it is Wedged

My 2017 Northfield 13 is Wedged and is 3 Bladed made in 2017 and has No Blade Rubs and is very well made . Old Pics

Terrible pic of the Wedge

If the new 38's are as well made as my above mentioned knives , I will be extremely happy .

Seems everyone enjoys the workmanship required to create these beauties, and owns at least one or two!! Some collections are downright astounding!!:)
Here is a whittler made for Jim Sargent, by Queen! They found a way to dye pearl!! They called it "Smoked Pearl"! It seems permanent, and looks much nicer than these scans!! Jim's brand was short-lived, but he knew what was worth making!!:cool:Sargent 1.jpg Sargent 2.jpg Sargent 3.jpg Sargent 4.jpg
Jim was a purveyor of knives, and an author, who passed away three years ago!

Don't see Queens with the smoked pearl very often. Nice

Here are a couple of Rough Rider split backs with a whittle I did last week.
