The southern end of that larger open area has a formation that looks like "Squirrel Rock".:D Hopefully he is still hanging out there!

I'm sure he's still there and gets a good chuckle every time he thinks of me, that little bastard.

Unfortunately for him, Sasha and I got some good target practice in last week at the Angeles Shooting Range. Sasha is turning into a crack shot with his new CZ452 .22 rifle, and I've fitted a hunting scope on mine. I need to work a bit on off-hand shooting and doping for different distances, but I'm feeling more confident in my squirrel termination abilities now.

this means we are eating squirrel then???

I'll take my pellet rifle just to play around...

I am going to feel a little left out... the only camping gear i have (will have by then) is a tent, and sleeping bags... oh.. and my knife... :D

That spot marked on the map is it, just a hair below the spot. Same turn off from the road though.

If you look back to Lambertiana's directions from the first Bush Bash, they are spot on.

sorry im late on here but the map is right to within i guess 50meter or so. Do not follow a GPS direction as it would take you way way out.. Yes i tried it and got lost. If you want the cordinates i used the WGS84 and they are N 36 40.032 W 118 58.057 Thats where i parked my car.
Mike thanks for the compliments about my shooting.. But i got to tell you that CZ is awsome. I hope to shoot as well as you did hitting the targets... Practice makes perfect.
Carspidey i dont think anyone eating squirel.. It would take some of the best snipers to bring him down... I bet he sold his soul to the devil in turn that no one can shoot him.

Sasha

this was funny... i can picture a little squirrel talking to the Devil about selling his soul ... :D :D :D

Since this is a 3 day trip... what do we eat?

Can you post (in general... or specific if you can) a list of things you are taking??? Please...

thanks...

I took steaks, sausages, pasta mixes (like Pasta Roni where you just add water), some bread, cereal, donuts, beer, pepsi, and milk. Oh yeah, and s'mores. Those were a big hit.

I'd suggest taking the food and drink you need for you and your party and then some extra if you want to share. You can figure two dinners, probably just one lunch, and two breakfasts.

There were two camping stoves last time. If you have one, I'd bring that too.

As for the rest of the stuff to bring, here's a list you can pick and choose from: http://www.thecampingsource.com/The Big List.htm For car camping, it's handy to have a list of stuff you want to take. There are lots of little things that are easy to forget.

Hello all... I hope all of you have fun... I won't be able to make it... I wish I did though... I've gone through the pics from past gatherings and it looks like you guys had a blast...

I called the Hartland Christian Camp and they don't allow daily visitors for the restrooms... They said that the 20 dollar rate was for people who booked their conference and were going to have extra visitors for a day... :( :( :(

I guess the end of the month is not good for my wife... if it was a different date maybe...

Thanks though for all your answers to my questions...

True, but you always reciprocate by bringing some nice hardware for us to inspect.:D

I suppose I will need to bring scones again. Do you want me to bring my plum jam, too? And if I can spend the night there, maybe I'll bring the dutch oven for some cobbler.

I think the hungry assembled masses would be most appreciative!

That is a great idea! :p If I get to come, do you have a cast iron skillet to cook pork chops in? I left all mine in MO. you bring the skillet... I will bring the pork chops :D

I'm about 90% on going. I'll try and remember to pack BOTH cast iron griddles.

With the recent acquisition of a new house... time to get things done on it and funds are at a premium. I don't think I will be able to stay for the whole weekend like last time, but at the very least I will come up for the day. Maybe stay one night a take off in the morning.

Congrats on the new place! I'm also spending a lot of time on getting moved.

I'm excited about it too.

My 13 year old nephew will most likely be coming with me.

Hey Dave, are you going to bring your bow again?
