Spyderco Fakes & Knock Offs Info

Just a quick update, I picked up another Ti millie off a major online knife dealer and it seems the paperwork and engravings match up. I may ask Spyderco if they can look at the first one just to be sure, but I can't find any obvious differences between the two so far.

Leave him some negative feedback... he's still at 100% positive

I was going to wait till I got my money back first. I may change my mind. Really pissed I've got to actually PAY to ship it back before I can get refunded.

Hahaha this is priceless... I messaged the guy that sold you the fake. He had another spin listed so I asked a question, something like "Is the knife in the photo the actual knife for sale or will I get a chinese knock-off instead?"

Here is his amazingly mature and professional response. I couldn't make this up if I tried (one word edited):

Philly Philly Philly,
So you believe everything you read on the internet huh? You must be a 20 something brave behind a keyboard puke of a punk.
So why don't you get your worthless self back down into your mommy's basement and get back to playing your Xbox or posting more of your worthless c##p on the internet till your little bitty grayish matter develops, or not.
Bye dye PUNK Philly.

Hilarious! and just about the level of intellect I'd expect from a thieving scumbag.

He's sent me two more messages that are too inappropriate to post here, but they involve questioning my sexuality. I'm really sorry if this causes you a problem, Barman. I certainly didn't mean to. All my messages to him have been polite considering the circumstances. I just went ahead and reported him and stopped responding.

No problem here.
He only has himself to blame and getting all worked up can't be good for his health. ;)

Hi Everyone,

I need some help. Someone has just told me that this Spyderco Spin of mine is a fake. I'm a bit stressed now because I really do not believe it is a fake, but after seeing some Spyderco Forum posts about possible fake Spins that look almost exactly like real ones I don't know what conclusion to draw. The reasons this person gave me for this knife being fake are:

"First, the box doesn't have the name/model #/barcode as Spyderco knives do. Second, It is finished differently than Spyderco Etched knives are (I have 2 of them).
Third, It weighs about 0.75 grams more than the Spyderco knife. And lastly, the engravings on the blade are much finer/lighter than the real thing."

Do all acid etched Spins have the same exact etch pattern? Can someone confirm or deny with certainty whether this is a real Spyderco or a knock-off??? I would greatly appreciate any feedback! Thank you.

^^^That is a fake^^^
Just went through the same thing. Look a few posts back for some examples.

I did see the previous post, but can you tell me what features definitively tell you that it's a fake? Thanks.

I see the differences in the etching & the Torx screws. Damn Chinese forgers! They forge anything under the sun! Why don't they just put all of that effort into designing & manufacturing original quality things instead of all this knock-off BS??? It's ridiculous!

You might consider action? Write to your congressman? I plan a meeting with ours.

I am hoping an expert here on the forums could please kindly confirm if you think my recently purchased Paramilitary 2 from a store in Auckland, New Zealand looks to be genuine or not.

I have a couple models of the Endura and Delica. Saw many positive reviews of the Paramilitary 2 so was thrilled to track one down. I have read through all the posts on this thread and my new knife looks to be legit with the exception of the blade which is short on the grinding and different milling. I noticed from most photos I can find on the web that the edge on the Paramilitary 2 is usually fully ground to the bottom of the blade plus a bit of an indent however mine looks a bit different. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Looks real to me, from what I've found on the web is that the easiest ways to check are the torx screw sizes on the pivot and the scale, if they're the same size it's fake. Also the grind is different as well as the jimping. The top jimping on a real PM2 will be almost angled back and look more fluid than the clones. There are some other ways to check with the liners as well. There are a couple videos on YouTube that go over all the differences, it's probably a good thing to check out.

Okay, thanks very much for your time and the info! The Torx size on the pivot and scale definitely differ, top jimping does seem to be angled back, and the liners check-out so I guess all is well. Cheers.
