Probably could be made to fit but you'd always know that they weren't quite right.

Maybe they only fit Chinese knock-offs!

Would one need to be suspect of a Spyderco Military that was purchased directly from Amazon? i bought mine from their own stock.

Not to stir the paranoia pot, but yes I could see it happening same as brick & mortar (as mentioned before like a fake return put back into stock). If you say it was sold and shipped by Amazon (not a private third party) then I'd imagine the chances are slim to nil, but still possible.
 
Well, I cannot tell if my military is real or not even after watching Les's video on youtube. I think I will just send it back to amazon and buy thru one of the storefronts listed here.

I just did a bunch more videos today but haven't posted them yet because they are in 4K and I'm having some issues with my Video computer because of Malware. Anyhow, the Military key is to scrutinize the finish on the Lock on the inside. The place where you put your thumb to unlock. I doubt you would get a fake at Amazon very often. Not saying it isn't possible. However, Amazon is allowing everybody to sell there. Kinda like Ebay, seems like anybody can sell stuff now, so have to be careful there.

Did you see the part of the video where I address the Foam in the Box? That is almost a better indicator than anything else.

It would be good if you can post pics of the box label, the foam, and the knife in good light and differing light and angles on the lock area I was referring to. Also the pivot pin on both sides.

p.s. Glad some folks are getting some use from the videos....

I already packaged it and dropped it off at my UPS drop off location. Better safe than sorry.

Plus after having it in my hand I decided it wasn't the knife for me. Going to buy a PM2 Digi-Camo/Black Blade from a vendor listed here with my refund. i like the PM2 a lot.

Too bad, would have Loved to see it. PM2 is very nice as well. Need both really or you life will not be fulfilled...

That's called Spyderco fever, like MRSA, you can't treat it with antibiotics!

Just received a manix 2 xl in all black. Is this model being faked yet? Nothing seems suspicious to me on it. Thanks.

Sorry, haven't had one yet.

I would check the Foam in the box though. You can see the difference on any of the videos comparisons I posted on youtube.

It is a very reliable indicator.

Who did you buy it from?

It was bought from "supremesolution" on eBay. Seller has been on since 2000 and knife and package match all "real" characteristics. I think all is good. Thank you for the wealth of knowledge.
 
Welp, I just read this entire thread.

I was wanting to replace a delica I misplaced and perused amazon. I read some of the reviews and some people said that instead of "VG10", they said "V810"

Some of the reviewers gave bad reviews stating they were sent fakes. I hesitated to order anything but a couple days later I purchased a purple delica. I just got it today. The blade says "VG10" and the fit and finish is flawless. Nice and sharp too!

Now I'm wondering though, it sounds like some people did indeed get fakes. I don't have my old delica to compare it with and it probably wouldn't matter as it's a different version, the new one is the delica 4.

I'll post some pics tomorrow. I know that amazon does sell fake stuff, I've gotten fake crossbow bolts and fake charging cords. Sometimes you know you are getting knockoffs but the bolts were supposed to have the brand logo on them and they didn't, plus the weight was different.

There have been several questions in this thread about what amazon has been selling but I didn't see much in the way of responses, only ones about ebay stores. I was thinking about getting an endure from amazon but I don't think I want to risk getting a fake.
 
I've never seen a fake Delica

Post the best close up PIC you can get of the Label in the middle of the scales. That's how you'll know.

So..... why dont you just buy from one of the reputable stores advertised on here?

BladeHQ, KnifeWorks, Cutlery Shoppe, Knives Ship Free, etc? :confused:
