Does that mean the Lawman was not dented?

Yeah, it wasn't dented at all, still looked new.

The AL had Zero Blade play up and down and just a very small tad side to side if I really pulled on it hard.

Wow, I am stunned the manix 2 didn't do better. I would have expected the tip to snap off an FFG knife, but the saber ground blade? Not terribly suprised that ball bearing lock experienced problems, but I wouldn't have guessed a total failure either. Still not turned off to that one. It's just to cool. Glad to have a better idea what role it can handle EDC. Thanks man, can't wait to see them videos!

It didn't take much to snap the point off either. ;)

It's too thin for a hard use blade as it's advertised.

It would take a LOT to dent it. The tang pushes against the lock bar which causes both a pull on its own pin and a push on a stop pin. I think that's the best distribution of forces in a locking knife we've ever heard of, hence the reputation of the Tri-Ad Lock.

I'm sure you were able to fix that by tightening the pivot?

I'm not exactly sure I'd call this an "EDC test."

To the OP Ankerson: please don't post anything on this thread until you show us the video. Right now I'm pretty unhappy with how you are presenting things. You managed to destroy the tips on both and break one of the best locking mechanism all while boasting the Lawman. Not exactly fair way to do things. Please just show us the video.

definitely waving the CS flag, I enjoy the cutting tests and chopping vids, but these videos seem like advertisements to me, and not the good kind.

Not at all. ;)

They were requested by more than one member and the knives were donated to me by a fellow BF member. :)

And on top of that I made them equal being 100% fair about it.

It will be up in about 1.5 hours. :)

Wow... that's very disappointing for the Spyderco. Might have just moved down a few notches on my "knife get" list. Bummer

I disagree. What he is describing sounds completely fair and square to me. And for the record, I hate the Lawman, it had one of the most uncomfortable handles I've ever held, and the Griptilian is my favorite knife.

I think it's still a good knife, just not a hard use blade.

It would be fine for Light to Medium use IMO. :)

Of course we have to judge by your "use" scale. :)

Your use constitutes gross abuse of the knife, not hard use.
