Spyderco PM2 woes

yes, I would expect loctite on clip screws for a chinese made knife.
And i would expect no less ignorance from you. No need to show it off. We all know what you are running with.

Now were on rockets and machinery supporting whatever point you're trying to make. You guys maybe forgot these are knives were talking about, not rockets huh

I get a kick out of many coming up with everything in the world to justify what Spyderco does rather than simply saying maybe Spyderco ( or any other Mfg) could have put some decent screws into these knives so they wouldn't need loctite. NO lets just beat up the new guy cuz he doesn't know anything.

So live with whatever Spiderco decides to do because they only make perfect knives. huh. I don't think they make perfect knives, I don't think they make good looking knives either.

I'm finished with all this silliness, I love all the tech everyone used to prove me wrong:)

To the poster that said I wouldn't make many friends. I've been on forums for almost 30 years, I'm active on over a dozen forums now, I really don't care what some of you think, I've been there and done that, because the amount of intellect involved in your threads is rather rudimentary at best.

You are right we are talking knives. And not motorcycles, watches or guns like you previously brought up. Rockets? We were just following your lead.

Nobody here cares how many forums you've been on over the last thirty years, considering intetnet based forums haven't even been around that long unless you were on delphi but I digress. If you want to learn something about knives maybe stick around, however if you just want to come in and be a jerk well then we've seen plenty of those come and go it'll be no big loss.

Also why don't you be respectful of a company that you are bashing and spell their name at least correctly, it spelled Spyderco.

The reaction you got has nothing to do with you being new, we welcome a lot of new folks, the ones with attitudes however get dealt with in a different way.

You may want to check out a different part of this forum called wine and cheese, discussion can be a little bit more productive with your intellect there.

As you yourself mentioned in a previous post, you are new to the world of knives. I see you joined in 2017 and have as of this writing 63 posts.

Maybe stick around a bit more and become more acquainted with Spyderco knives and the forum it self. They might grow on you - the Spydercos.

His comparison is valid, you're the one who made a giant assumption with zero experience or practical application to back up your claim. I've seen engineers design many things then when applied practically or installed, fail miserably, you can predict a football game on paper but they still play the game.

I'm not commenting on loctite any longer, the only reason I replying to you is you have a beautiful dog there, I have one in black/white blue eyes, they're a wonderful breed!

Trolling, trolling ...

^^^yup! ... Hey your knife sucks... Hey cute puppy! :D

My PM2 did not come with loctite on the clip screws... body screws and pivot, yes (red). I didnt have eny trouble removing those and without the need for heat... just some good downward pressure as i loosened as someone already mentioned.

Interesting read, mainly because of the tendency to talk past each other. Cash71 makes a perfectly reasonable point (however ungraciously), which is mostly being sidestepped. In his opinion, loctite, in this context, is a bandaid covering what could be better engineering. I've seen people say "that's how it's done in the knife world," or, "Spyderco makes great knives," or "loctite is used in various other applications, so..." What I haven't seen is a compelling argument that what he says isn't true. It's ok to say - "yes, that's true, but it makes more sense to use loctite than to go to the trouble and expense of designing and manufacturing a fastener that would never need it." (There may have been one person who came close to saying that). What seems to be rankling some is how important this is to Cash71, rather than the accuracy of his assertion.

Cash71 - Unless your goal is to get an infraction, I'd suggest you go back and re-edit the profanity out of that post.

Next thing you know I bet he starts talking about Lynn Thompson's underpants.
