spydercos best model?

serrated Police 07.
They did it EONS ago and it still works great in the same shape.
It means - perfect design.

Para-Military2
probably even my favorite knife ever:eek:

GB is a great knife, but I strongly prefer SS blades. My friend carry GB for a while and buffing blade every couple month due to pitting.
Military is a great knife as well, but a little too big for my taste and little over legal limit in my state.
My original C83 Persian and Caly3.5 is exactly what doctor ordered. Both knives great for any tasks, have great ergos, and look good. Probably Para2 will join
When I need something smaller for travel: Caly3.
When I need something more dressy looking: Small Persian or Kopa Coco.

Holy grail: Fixed Lum Tanto at this time. Also a lot of love to Shabaria.

For me, Sage 2 followed by Orange Manix 2. I'll be different... I didn't love my Military, I ended up selling it.

Military or Native 4... but Paramilitary 2 and Native 5 will be purchased this year !

delica 4 ... I don't own that many knives ,ut the delica 4 vg-10 steel .... awesome combination . Deica series probably there top selling knives ( don't know this for sure ) , enough said !!!!

My favorite Spyderco is probably their ATR. It's very comfortable in the hand and is the perfect size.

I have a number of the relatively newer Spyperco's.

On the job the GB wins, hands down.
I even started to get a bit frisky with lateral forces and it did fine. The same lateral forces were too much for a very nice S30V blade I have.
Yep, my bad... but the GB (well, maybe it's just the CPM M4 with the high hollow grind) just got me to expect more out of a blade than is reasonable.

The JD Smith has my favorite Spydie ergo's... want one of those in CPM M4.

"Best" depends on my mood.

Do I want a large, flat folder that flicks open with such authority that my cat takes off running across the kitchen floor? Military.

Hefty Honey? Gayle Bradley, with scale relieved to give access to the liner lock and Spydie hole like God intended.

All around ergonomic EDC that disappears in your pocket? Delica 4 or Carbon Fiber Stretch II. That CF Stretch just feels awesome.

Teeny Weeny? G10 Dragonfly.

The Stretch in FRN with the ZDP-189 blade, light, quick, sharp, very sharp
and for me, excellent blade shape too.

G2

If you can carry it, I say Military. I didn't buy all the hype before from the forums, but I couldn't miss out on the CPM M4 Military so put myself on the list. Once I got it I saw what all the fuss was about. Love the blade shape, tons of belly while still having a great and pointy tip, which is my main concern with most drop point/hunting type knives. Great, positive feel in hand, locks up great.

And it's true that instead of feeling big, it just makes everything else seem small.

If you want a little Smaller I'd say the Delica or Native. Can't go wrong with either model, with any of their variations.

In spite of it being tip-down only, I bought a Military, and I like it a lot. I need to get it converted to tip-up and will be even better.
I own about 10 Spyderco's now, but the best one of those is still the Manix 1. I also really like the Resilience by the way, for the money it's probably the best folder in the world I think. I will be receiving a GB any day now, so who knows what my opinion will be after that? ;)

I have owned a few spydercos and handled a few more. For me a Spyderco is a basic tool. Easy to open and strong construction free from problems. Non I saw was beautiful or even pleasing to look at. But a hell of a good standard knife. In a spyderco I want good steel and a strong handle. I cant see how any material can beat the FRN in a spyderco. For me its the ultimate material for a problemfree and lightweight user. This can of course differ.
I have liked the Calypso jr very much and I specially like how god of a slicer it is and the ability to cut easy with the thin blade But its bigger and no better than many of my belowed slipjoints in this regards. The same goes for the Dragonfly. Very nice knife but to bulky for the length of blade it services to be perfect.
The one that stands out as best for me is the delica IV. The sturdy saber grind, The way the hand grips the FRN handle, the ability to have the clip 4 ways. The size that makes it an able hunting and working knife and yet light and flat, takes little space. This all makes the delica my favorit Spyderco.
