And this reality states the hole is a less efficient opening method......I still don't get it.
Sorry

Every poster with an opinion has not posted. You're touting your opinion and the absence of data as fact.

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion but you are not entitled to your own reality.

If they have "posted" than they are posters.

The reality is that some folks have a harder time opening a knife this way. The opinion is that this may be due to the FACT that it takes a larger sweep of the thumb.

Where is the controversy in that?

Better title for this thread would be "Anyone else not like the Spyderhole?"

Lets everyone know up front it's a personal opinion issue.

Well, it's not an all encompassing fact, to start with.

I like the hole better than thumbstuds. Especially when it's a backup to a flipper. I like having a way to open the knife a little less "flashy" than the flipper.

The hole is great, by using the thumb or any other digits. One of my favorites. Gary

Hole is better.
I'm calling that a fact, and stating that everyone who thinks otherwise is just plain wrong.

So there. :D

After playing this game for a few years now and experimenting with a lot of knives, for me anyway I prefer the hole over thumb stud . 14 MM Hole works best for me, quite like flippers . Horses for courses and all that. But to be fair I do rather like the para 2 . Moving on. Over and in Faron.

The spydie hole is probably the most positive and reliable opening system out there.

If I need fast I'll carry an assisted blade, flipper, or auto. All of which have their downsides.

Thumstuds are nice but they are easier to slip off, can get loose or get in the way of cutting chores.

Different set ups for different days.

Today I have the Gayle Bradley in my pocket, which to me is an ideal pocket knife.

The spyderhole I like the operation vs. thumbstuds, but, I don't prefer the look (typically). There are some really nice looking spydercos however. But not my favorite for looks. So, functionality yes. Looks, meh...

And while wearing gloves, hell yes!
