What amazes me most is that people hold to their speculations and opinions rather than embracing the evidence. Let's state the facts, that is of course for those who are interested in them still in this day and age:
1) Seller lists the item to the best of his ability and believes it is an honest listing
2) Buyer comes along and purchases the knife from him even sending a pm saying "Have you shipped that beautiful knife yet?"
3) Buyer sends money and he receives the knife
4) Buyer then expresses his disinterest with the knife and proceeds to head directly to Paypal to start a dispute before having given seller a chance to respond.
5) Seller responds and buyer disrespects him, trashing his sales thread with comments that were originally pm's whereby violating two Bladeforum's policies
6) By this time now both parties are upset. Buyer escalates to claim and Seller and accepts taking it there
7) Buyer starts Feedback thread designed to label the otherwise Perfect-record Seller a "swindler!"
8) Seller defends his reasons for believing his listing was created honestly and the vast majority disagree and some attack him for it
9) Finally, Seller makes a 180, after reading and pondering the different opinions and thoughtful posts of others and realizes he is in the wrong.
10) Seller decides the right thing to do is make it right by the buyer and also honoring the forum as a whole in the process. He is willing to put away his past feelings toward the buyer and start afresh, anew.
11) Seller then writes an apology and calls Paypal to drop his side of the claim and plead with the buyer. This is his first claim afterall and doesn't even think about the possibility he might have to prove he made the call.
12) Seller posts apology JUST after hanging up with Paypal on the phone and after sending the buyer a little extra via gift (not required btw in Paypal's refund process). He does this extra bit in keeping with a good idea from member's previous posts.
13) Everything is good and right now until Bam!...Buyer turns around ensinuating that the seller bluffed his apology and only decided to post it to claim credit for something he never did. Also cites that in fact he never made that call.
14) Seller is stunned, shocked, to say the least.
15) Again, seller sets out to defend his case, the case for the fact that indeed the call WAS made, the apology WAS sincere and all of this brought about by a genuine change of heart, a genuine hard look at the reality of the situation and the desire to make a wrong, a right.
16) The seller then actually calls back Paypal and has the kind lady (Cecilia) write him a letter so he can have "proof" that he in fact did make the call to set things right and do the right thing buy the buyer. This then confirms his apology was sincere in the first place, disproving the claim that this seller is indeed a "sociopath" and a "swindler"
Mr. Kaladztis, I say to you directly that you are lying when you say it was not I who initiated that call to set a change of events in motion last afternoon based on a sincere desire to do right. I say this because you were either not smart enough to call back the lady whom I mentioned sent my the letter of proof (Cecilia) or in fact didn't make that call. I would ask you, where is the proof you made that call? So, then all these members reading this thread and they still decide to believe the guy who doesn't show the evidence? Heck, they don't even have to. If they want to be certain they have the right position on the matter, all they have to do is call the lovely Cecilia, state the claim number, and find out themselves. That is, of course, only if they choose to base their beliefs on facts vs. speculation.
Mr. Kalandztis, I really have no harsh feelings toward you and I am sure you are probably a great guy. I really do feel bad how this all turned out and I know I did have a part in that. I apologize for that and really hope you accept my sincerity. I am not sure what else I can do to remedy this on my part as I did everything the other members suggested. I admitted responsibility and then took action to set it right. I really would like to move on from this whole thing but more importantly, I hope you can as well. I hope your future transactions go much, much better than this one has. No hard feelings, ok?
