Got a Leen 1203-2 today that i was really looking forward to getting after reading about it here, but it was in terrible condition. bladeplay to all directions and the lock is too short so it just jumps all the way to the side and the blade doesent really touch it much. the small screws fell out after i played with the knife for 5 minutes and i just threw the knife in the trash after that..was really sad after reading so much good stuff about it here, but i told the seller about it and he has sendt me a new one so i havent given up on it yet...

Elian,
That Ganzo G704 really surprised me on F&F and ergo's.
Real nice feel to it.

I can say the same thing. The fit and finish could not be better.
Recently i saw an original Benchmade HK knife, and side to side with the Ganzo it was difficult to tell where is the difference.
I guess the Benchmade has better materials, steel, g10 etc ... but at plain sight, there were not present :)

Thumbs up for the Ganzo

sorry to hear that dude. that is a blower. sounds like you had the opposite experience of my overly tight one. hope the next one they send you is better.

I have two of the frame locks and one liner lock that are all in good shape (although I still have no way to adjust the pivots.)

But you may recall that about half my Chinese imports have issues -- for example, my Ganzo 704 was dull and the lock wasn't up to snuff.

My solution is to buy more than one and gift the less satisfactory ones.

acid dipped? What kind of acid?

I think it is called ferric acid . I got it from radio shack for about 12.00. I used it full strength and left the blade in for about 4 min. make sure to cover the pivot and lockbar faceing with fingernail polish.

Thanks Chris.

After being out out knife buying for a while, I bought the Enlan E08. Physically quite an imposing folder. Heavy becaus eof the stainless frame lock, but it also feels nicely sturdy and locks up well. The structure pattern on the G10 side is a bit ugly, if it would be doable where I now live I would try to cut a replacement slab for it. But it must be said that while at first it looks like the G10 handle is purely G10, upon closer inspection you can see that there is a steel plate flush mounted at the inside side. Nice! It is nice in the hand, a grip that feels trustworthy. The opening action is a bit stiff straight out of the box. It locks well.
It comes with a sturdy pouch. I also have the dedicated pivot tool for it.
Not the prettiest Enlan, but it seems like a good choice, esp at the price, if you want something big and sturdy.

You're welcome, gentlemen. In the last 8 months also have acquired a Paramilitary 2 and, very different from my usual buys, a slickly opening CRKT Ken Onion Foresight (first production), but that"s it for now !

Welcome home, Dagon.

Agree with you on the merits of the EL-08. It's a lot of knife for the money. Would like to see a 3-inch version that's light enough to pocket-carry (this one is too big and heavy for me.)

As for that CRKT Foresight, she's a handful and that IKBS is addictive!

Thanks Chris.
i left my blades when i acid etch mine in there for around an hour with rinsing every fifteen minuets and those blades came out great

Well , I come from China too and agree with that SRM ( or Land) is the best manufactor. Maybe Bee or Enlan is second but it is far behind SRM.

Others ,like Navy ,Y-start, Leen are crappy . Yes ,MAYBE the finish is better than some Chinese Cheapos but they are always mixture "heavy weight" with "heavy duty" and steal core elements from foreigh productions and customs all the time. They DONOT know what is needed for a folder ,and designs of fixed blade of these manufctors are always copies or jokes.
