As usual, there's plenty of breathtaking, satisfying stag examples here today! But my "Pick of the Day" so far is Christian's knife, and I chose it more for the blades than for the stag. It has some nice "old school Euro stag", but the edges on those beautifully-patinaed blades are the stuff dreams are made of!!

This Fox n Hound (Italy) small lockback 3 3/8" has lurked at the back of a cupboard, neglected for years...The Stag doesn't match but both sides are decent, thick slabs which is good on a small knife. Tight lockup, no play anywhere, all stainless liners no brass
When I got it the Stag was white but a tea-bath fixed it to my liking, I think I need to carry this one more. I don't know much about this company except that it is making knives in Italy and China and might have a connexion with SMKW. This one has a very European feel to it and has no construction issues.
Hurrah for Saturdays
Thanks, Will

Thanks, Jim, I thought it looked like an Eye brand, but couldn't read the tang.![]()

BF knife with some moose for company
Lambertiana, your Puma looks like the same knife as my '90s vintage Solingen made Klaas Kissing Cranes stockman. They have a more subtle serpentine and low lying blades, compared to other Solingen stockmen. Do you know which factory these were made in? They don't look like Olbertz work to me.

That's a beauty !! How does that older Northwoods compare to the newer Hawthorn Jack, size wise?
It's a matter of form vs. function Rick. We may say we like evenly thick covers, etc. etc. but the thick rounded ones you show work really well in hand as you note.View attachment 837703
I've never been a fan of stag handles with a big bulge in them but this Schatt & Morgan in Red Elk feels so good in the hand that it has completely changed my perspective.

What make and model is that? It’s beautiful.
