I was pleasantly surprised that he worked the case at all. :thumbsup: Here in Vegas (even before our recent tragedy), this kind of case would be so low on the list of open crimes it wouldn't even be noticed. :(

Damn think I'll go do some zen time and sharpen a knife, way my lucks going will probably cut myself.

I'm late to this train wreck as I haven't been spending much time on BF the past few months. Man, it just bums me out to see Steve flaming out like this. He did quite a bit of outstanding work for me a few years ago, and I never could have imagined he'd end up as a scamming lowlife. Just so damn sad.

Just got off the phone with the Det. assigned to the Ketchen caper...asked me if I'd gotten my blades back yet...

I replied, "No, matter of fact I've given him the chance to mail em back to me at no cost to himself and furthermore I haven't had any contact with him via text, email, phone call, or USPS."

The Det. said , "Well, he assured me he was shipping a bunch of stuff out last week."

I replied, "I believe he's lying to you Detective, because he's gotten good at lying to me & my friends for over a year now."

Det. says, "I'm used to getting lied to. But I'm gonna give Mr. Ketchen another visit soon."

I thanked him and told him to call me if I could help the process along.

So, I'm guessing none of you guys have gotten your property back yet either, right? :rolleyes:
 
Update

I was called by the Detective handling the case today. I was asked if I had received my knife back from Ketchen.
I informed him I had not, the Detective then informed me that Ketchen had called him and said that he was shipping knives back to the owners. This was a week and a half ago according to the Detective. I told the Detective that no one on this site had reported receiving any property back from Ketchen.

He then asked if I knew how many people were impacted by this situation. I told him just from the input on this forum maybe 5'or 6 but that the count could be higher because not everyone neccessarily frequents or uses blade forum.

So Mr. Ketchen will be receiving another visit in the near future.. maybe this sad chapter is about to come to closure.

Won't take that sucker bet. The Detective didn't sound to amused about Ketchen lying to him. Why dig the hole deeper by aggravating the man investigating this mess by lying.

I am beginning to think Ketchen is delusional and praying like a man man that this will all just go away.
 
Hey guys, Radioactive here. I also received a call tonight from the Detective and relayed the same as what you guys have been saying - no contact, no sign of any knives that he was shipping back last week, etc. I then offered to give my full contact info and pics of the actual knives in an email to him directly, which I soon after sent off. I recommend that you guys in contact with him by phone reach out to him directly via email as well (his email address is on the PD website) and make sure he's got everything on paper. At least it saves him from having to type it out in his report. Looks like Steve should expect a visit in person from him in the next day or two.
 
Sounds great guy that the police are looking at the situation and not blowing smoke. As for your knives I hate to say it they are probably gone which sucks. But knowing this crap bag is going to get what's coming to him would dull the knife loss pain to me. I know it sucks and would rather see your knives returned but this ass seems to not be in that position if he's lying to the police.
 
Yeah know I wa thinking about the last few posts of members saying the detective contacted them. If it was me I would send a email of all the k Ives I was out and links or sales slips with value of said knives. Because they can send it to the DA and charge him with grand theft charges.
 
My patience is great and karma can be a beach. None of us posting in this thread strongly believe we are getting our knives back. We are all adults. Doesn’t mean we can’t keep the wheels moving and see some minor modicum of justice served, even if this is all that comes of all this...

In addition, I paid him for 2 slabs of fancy Ctek handle raw material slabs in unfinished condition $60

Total: $630
