Still no knife from Dale Chudzinski

I sure wish that I read this thread before I got tangled up with Mr Chudzinski. I ordered a knife in early September (paid up front....Doh!) and haven't heard from him since despite three email asking about progress. Upon our initial conversation he assured me that he placed a high priority on keeping his customers informed about their knives progress. Hmmm....crap. I filed a complaint with the upstate NY Better Business Bureau today.

Alas, no knife, no tracking number, no nothing.
Which reminds me, time to send him another paypal invoice now.

What happened in Dale's life must have been very serious to change him from the well respected knifemaker that he was, into the current Dale that doesn't seem to give a damn.

In September, Dale knew that he was not supplying knives in a timely manner, yet he still took payment in full for a knife. All I can think is that he is doing it on purpose, because he needs the money.

Paypal invoice, sent to Dale at his localnet mail-address, just now:
----------------------------------
Amount: $180.00 USD
Email Subject: Nessmuk
Note: Hi Dale, i`m sorry to do this again, but i still haven`t received anything from you, even though you`ve had a week to send it.
I must admit that i`m getting slightly tired of this, even though i do understand that you`ve had alot of things interfering with your life.
But i must remind you, that when i paid you to make me a knife, in May, 2006, you said, and i quote: "I can have the knife done within 3-4 weeks." That was on the 17th of May.
Not to be rude, but i think even you`d begin to wonder if you ordered something from me, and was given the same treatment as i`ve been receiving from you.
I still know you make good knives, and i seriously do understand that life`s not been treating you fair, so this might come at a bad point. But i have to respectfully ask, that you honor this invoice, and pay it in full. I`m sad to say that i am no longer interested in receiving a knife from you. I really hope you don`t hold it against me, but if you do infact have a knife that`s made, then you`re free to sell it to whomever you wish.
I hope you`ll get back to normal, and that life`ll treat you better in the future.

With much love and respect,
Jo Henning

Any ideas on what to do, if he doesn`t give me my money back?

Well, that was (sort of) my suggestion, but Jo does live in Norway.

This whole thing is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

Heck, if I had a Nessmuck, I'd give the thing to Jo at this point.

Ridiculous.

Jo has manners.
Its a nice thing to see in this day and age.

Stay on the road less travelled, Jo.

Just received an email from Dale:

Hi Dale.
If you send out the knife, on Monday the latest, i`ll cancel the paypal invoice as soon as i see the tracking number working.
If not, i will appreciate it, if you give me my money back.

Thank you.

Jo.

As to me having manners, i have nothing to gain from being rude.
Also, i`ve found that life isn`t half-bad if i bash it in the face with a little bit of optimism once in a while.
If i get a tracking number, and it works! Ohhh.. I think i might have to buy me a bottle of southern comfort then..

Just received yet another email from Dale, after sending the last one:
-----------------------

Take Care,
Dale

Why wait until Monday ifthe knife is ready to ship?

Sorry, but I smell Alan Blade-itis.....................

By the end of Monday we should know if Dale came through for aarya, but even if he does, there will still be others that he owes that have not received anything.
