First I would like to ask if there is a clearing house forum or list for stolen knives?

If so I could sure use the address.

Second I am listing a Bagwell Cable Bladed knife as stolen.

The Blade is by Bagwell and the Handle is by Job.

I have the sellers picture of the knife and when I figure out how to post it I will do so.

Below is a captured ebay listing of the knife and a picture on that site.

One of One cable damascus by Bill Bagwell with a gorgeous sambar stag handle by Robert Job. A collaborative piece

by one of the most famous custom makers of this era and the re-inventor of Wootz steel. A chance to own a very

special piece of cutlery art from a famous collection. Letter of provenance follows knife purchase.

I have the email from the seller confirming it was sent and the PayPal records proving I paid the seller.

Unfortunately the seller cannot prove the knife was sent to me so I must assume that it was lost in shipping.

None the less I figure the knife is on the market some place and I want what is mine.

If you know the whereabouts of the knife then please let me know.

Josie'

Thanks all

If you did not receive an item that was shipped to you then there should be ways to get your money back. I know you probably want the knife but I would want my money as well.

I would think that an expensive knife would have been insured or have tracking to know where it is supposed to be? Also, if you paid with a credit card you can dispute the charge because you never received the item.

Good luck getting it back but if it was really stolen more than likely it is gone.

Unfortunately, for me, as I was purchasing this knife I began a long term illness.

Months later I realized the knife had not arrived.

To compound the problem, I had purchased numerous knives from the seller in a short time span.

This allowed a bit of confusion on their end and their paper work seems in disarray.

No I don't believe I have been hustled, but I do believe an employee most likely shipped the knife to the wrong address for their records do not match up to the employees statement of "Shipping on Monday" no records from any shipper indicate a knife shipped to me after that date on and the seller is convinced I received the knife.

So....if they were within 500 miles or in my state I would pay them a visit and report the knife as an unknown theft event.

As it is I'm pretty much screwed due to the time limit.

Thanks

Josie.

I think it's very irresposible to ship an expensive knife without insurance
or deleviry confirmation. It's also jut plain stupid. I know it's late but I would definately complain big time to them.

A PayPal claim has been opened, and we'll just have to see what happens.

The only good part of this is that the "employee" who stated they would ship the knife on Monday(statement on PayPal receipt) also received the payment.

So maybe now a few gray cells may be awakened since the money, if returned to me, will come from their account.

Or maybe the knife just got pigeon holed some place in the "Shop" and now a light will come on in someone's brain and I'll receive the knife shortly.

Well you just gotta hope for I do not have a BAGWELL Cable Knife nor can I afford to even look for one at this time.

This is a really bad deal since the seller is a major figure in the Knife world and just will not read their own paper work.

Thanks

If they are a major seller and were selling an expensive custom then they should have had a tracking number and insurance. No legit person would send an expensive one of a kind knife without some sort of protection. Try to find out this information.

And if the shop isn't willing to work with you to find the knife go to the Good, bad, and ugly section and start a thread there. I'm sure others would like to know how a shop conducts business when there is a problem and if they start getting some bad press they might also look a little harder.

Did you pay paypal with a credit card? I think paypal only has a 200 dollar protection limit? I could be completely wrong about that but if you paid with a credit card you can still dispute the claim to the card company.

First I understand I am making a claim, on line in an open forum, against the seller.

I have my opinion of what happened and as I said I hope these post will suffice in getting me my knife.

The sale price was ridiculously low and it was mostly a fluke that I bid and won the knife. Of course I have not "won" it just yet for it is not in my possession.

At the end of my efforts I will post what the outcome is.

I gotta say that I was way too nice and took way too long to report the knife as stolen.

I did in fact send an email to the seller last week letting them know my intent, so I have done every thing I know to settle this in a polite manner.

But then I suspect age has mellowed me some and being this polite in my past would not have happened.

But I gotta keep this clean since the whole world can view these post.

Thanks for Y'alls post, I guess I just needed to know that others were aware of a bad deal and just maybe they had seen the knife on-line or for sale some place.

FWIW

I have sent the seller this www site address and just maybe they will chime in or not. But they do have a choice in defending themselves and by this I mean facts of shipment dates, time and insurance facts.

I am not looking for a Flame War, only the knife.

None the less I am being honest, open and above board in all my dealings in this matter.

After all, I've never seen a place to hang a price tag on my Ethics.

Multiple communications have taken place with this buyer after it took him a year to
notify me that he did not get his knife. Prior to and since this issue we have a 100%
satisfaction with Paypal and a 100 % satisfaction guarantee policy with anyone buying
a knife from our custom knife site.

Paypall bends over backward to work in favor of the CUSTOMER, not the vendor as anyone who has been a vendor with them knows. And, we support that policy 100%.

This individual has failed to meet any of PayPal's standards for a valid complaint.

We have only asked of this customer that he send a certified letter indicating he did not
receive the knife in question and we will refund his money.

You bet it was sent signature required by UPS Blue Label and we have all the documentation to prove that it was signed for by a Mr. Maness in Stephenville, Tx 76401.

Sir, send on the certified statement that you did not receive the knife and we will follow
with UPS and refund your money in full.

There has NEVER been any indication otherwise.

Open forum or not, one should be wise enough to know that we have more than enough
extra lawyers who would love to go after someone for libel and slander when they have
willingly and knowingly damaged someone's reputation for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

Our communications prove beyond any reasonable doubt that this knife was sent via UPS
insured to the address given and signed for by someone indicating Maness was their name.

Obviously cannot send the knife in that it was already sent.

Equally obvious that any reasonable person would have complied with our request to send a certified (can be certified/witnessed for free at the bank of choice), note to
the effect that no knife was received. And, we offered this refund upon receipt of the
certified note after this person wrote us (and we still have this email), that he realized
he had screwed up and not followed within a reasonable time (within a year!), to let us
know he had not received anything.

Hope this clears the air and we can get this person to reasonabley respond so that we
can make him happy...if at all possible.

We have all the tracking numbers and insurance documentation in file, as would any
reasonable vendor, and would be delighted to follow with UPS once the required notification is received.

Thanks to all for a forum that continues to provide a great source for knife info.

This sure is long time to wait and put in a claim.
Unfortunately the seller cannot prove the knife was sent to me so I must assume that it was lost in shipping.
You should'nt assume anything. I agree with FlaMtnBkr, If this was a major seller there should been some kind of conformation on shipping and insuance.

Again,

As in our previous responses over the last several months: Just send us a
certified statement that you did not receive the knife and we will get you
your money.

You know we have a signature of a person using your name at the address
you gave to send the knife to receiving the knife. It was fully insured by UPS so why would we have a problem giving you your money...except ....

And you also know we have full and complete proof that any date of delivery
and money transfer is completely due to the fact that you sent the money
initially via paypall to the an account that did not exist.

Just send us the certified letter that you did not receive the package. We have no information to indicate at this time that UPS will not honor the
insurance on this knife...it was fully insured as our communication and
proof of records sent you show.

Thanks again for all who saw some of the "questions" of reasonableness in
this Thread.

We continue to guarantee fully any and all of our sales as valid and fully
refundable under our complete customer satisfaction guarantee...no limits,
no dates, just honest return of the product if not satisfied.

We cannot be held responsible for some unknown malfeance for following UPS regulations on their insurance coverages.

The resolution is simple enough here...send us the certified response and
we resolve the issue.

Posting on an open world wide forum what you will not send certified in order
to allow us to get the appropriate insurance converage ,(which covers all
shipping costs as well as the cost of the knife), should make any reasonable
man suspect.

Just do it. Please.

coverage.

Well Mr Job, what you failed to do in your lengthy rebuttal and what I requested was documents.

The only documents you have sent me is one that indicates I was shipped an item 2 days before I paid for the Bagwell Cable knife. No surprise there since I purchased 4 knives on previous Ebay auctions.

Now simple math proves that 1. You would not send me a knife I had not paid for and 2. You have never provided me any document that anything from your firm was sent to me after my paypal pay date.

If you have proof then show it.

If not then produce the knife..

Either way keep it simple.

The pay date is listed on the site I copied and pasted.

Rhonda was to have mailed the knife on the Monday after the pay date.

Real Simple.

Like I said you have never provided any documents that I received any item from you after that date.

So if you have them post them.

Otherwise you're just blowing smoke.

I find it interesting you are now making this statement, "As in our previous responses over the last several months: Just send us a
certified statement that you did not receive the knife and we will get you
your money."

Never happened, in fact I have a email from Mr. Job telling me I can expect NOTHING from him. Would you like to see it?

Yes I have a pretty extensive email file.

BTW, instead of trying to tag team me, how about just one be to spokes person.

Also I was polite enough to not mention your names so don't go blaming me for putting out your names on the world wide web.

Like I said , proof of documents is all i ask not a lot of bull.

What ever the case the knife will stay on any stolen list I can find.

"You know we have a signature of a person using your name at the address
you gave to send the knife to receiving the knife. It was fully insured by UPS so why would we have a problem giving you your money...except ...."

Really, then why not produce that document that fits the suip time, not one from days before I even won the bid?

"And you also know we have full and complete proof that any date of delivery
and money transfer is completely due to the fact that you sent the money
initially via paypall to the an account that did not exist."

You can think Mr Job for not providing the correct email address, he did in fact supply an active email address connected to the firm (yes I still have that email too), but he did not in that instance provide a PayPal email address.

And I have to say that your case is falling apart since, if you will check, you will find that I paid within in minutes of winning the bid to your email address, which you promptly collected. Proving again that you are at best confused about even the knife, PayPal and email address provided at any given time and purchase.

But I am glad you mentioned that fro that instance was on a much earlier auction.

I'm sure glad you have confirmed that the documents in your firm are a bit muddled, you proved that better than anyone.

Rather than air this out to the world, why not just stop the back and forth blame game and just pick up the phone and talk directly to each other???

Note; The PayPal transcation shown below indicate the Date and time match the Bagwell Cable Knife auction information I posted at the start of this Thread. Not as Rhonda stated, yes they have a document problem and that is easy to see.

In short I have provide proof I paid in good faith on time and with no problems for seller and all that happened along the way was a whole lot of BS from the seller.

Ever been really sick?

On top of that I was trying to be considerate of Job for he had given, as a reason for not sending an earlier purchase in a timely manner, that his Mom was gravly Ill.
