Stolen Knife Alert

Guys, calling someone ignorant is not insulting. ( def. lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified; Unaware or uninformed )
The seller of said blade in post #10, #12 discussed the refund/certified letter course.
wiredge mentioned it in post #28, Coug mentioned it again in post #31 and the seller again in post #33
The OP continued all the way through post #34 and in post #37 he finally states "That would be the best idea"

That's not real nice insulting the poster and calling him ignorant when he stated this was the first he had heard of that offer from the seller. It was also addressed by someone else earlier in the thread who must have also failed to read everything.

It's a little ignorant to start throwing insults without reading all that has been presented so far...

I did read everything posted, maybe you didn't? Why would you complain I'm insulting someone then come back with insults? Grow up.

***
josietex, I hope you get this problem worked out in your favor and realize I was not using the word ignorant to be insulting.
If you took it that way, I apologize.

"From Rhondi
This is sooo simple. Send the certified statement that you did not receive the knife on August
13, 2008 and you get the money."

Not a problem but why would you send the knife before I won the auction? Again, as I stated many months before, the knife I received on the 13 was one of the previous 4 that I purchased on line from you.

"Rhondi
"The statements you typed onto the site are not copies of any direct copies of an
e-bay transaction report and anyone who has looked at one would know it. "

You are incorrect. I did not "Type in a PayPal statement.

I copied and pasted the exact statement from PayPal, the same one you received many months ago, and then I was smart enough to remove the personal information and the PayPal transaction number that could be used by a scammer or spammer.

You can access the PayPal statement your self simply by going to your account and selecting the proper search.

In short you are grasping at straws, yet again.

Rhondi

Why would you then type in on the PayPal receipt, that

"Knife will ship On MOnday"

if, as you stated, you had already shipped the knife?

Like I said your books are way short of a good accounting system.

To all:

I could not be more delighted that the OP is committing to resolve this with a
simple certified note indicating he did not receive the knife.

As I opened with on my earliest response, all knives sold from this source have
an unlimited (anytime, for any reason whatsoever), guarantee. All knives that
have been finished, refinished, made by, etc. Mr. Job have letters of provenance with them for collecting purposes as did this specific knife.

That means if the knife showed up somewhere else for any reason attached to
that letter it should be easy to trace and, should it ever trace back to a problem with our services, we would owe a large apology to OP and his money
back if not already refunded (one would only hope), prior to that time.

In collecting custom knives from many of the most famous makers since l963,
Mr. Job has had only two or three instances where knives were not delivered.
One happened to be with a cable damascus folder from Bill Bagwell. I provided him immediately the certified note required and he filed with UPS to
refund the money and I got satisfied. I was told third hand, that that knife
showed up at an Atlanta Blade Show a decade later...not from my hands I
can assure you. UPS had already confirmed that delivery went wrongly to
another location entirely and the person at that address denied getting the
package. Follow up was completed and I was reimbursed to my full satisfaction...although I too would have preferred his folder to my money back.

That is exactly what should have occurred in this case over a year and half
ago and hopefully what will result in all being satisfied at this time. I would
hope it is obvious that we do not have the knife if question...that was the
first thing we established months ago in being finally notified of the loss.

Anyone reading all of the postings on this case should get, perhaps somewhat
convoluted, a relatively complete understanding of the who, what, when and where of this transaction.

Again, looking forward to satisfying OP with a full refund and moving on.

Where I am from calling someone ignorant (or lacking knowledge) sure as heck ain't a term of endearment. Plus blowing the font up to size 40 also seemed like you were talking down.

And if you don't think that is insulting then I didn't insult you, now did I? ;) Saying "grow up" sounds a little defensive for being called ignorant, so maybe it is insulting.

I will stop stepping in and let the man fight his battle. It looks like the ball is rolling so hopefully everything will get worked out. Good luck.

What me Worry, IGNORANT?

Thanks folks.

Both of you are correct in some form or fashion and I do appreciate all the input.

Yes I was somewhat taken aback to be called ignorant, for all of 5 seconds.

Then I realized I had been in nice guy mode way too long and was also stupid to expect a speedy resolution to my problem.

You see, I have sent all the documents, in their original form, to the Rob group , many months ago. Then I had another little set back in my health and had to lay off for a while for the stress, and yes I consider it stressful to get any satisfaction when the seller continues to talk in circles, was impacting my over all health.

Anyway I think the facts, that I have presented speak for my side of the case.

That being, NO Knife was sent to me on Monday the 21st of August as was promised in the PayPal transaction.

So where's the KNIFE?

You can draw your own conclusions but I find that one poster has already provided a pretty good possibility.

Thanks All

Its off to the USPS Office to mail that letter.

1. Write letter
2. Get letter certified
3. Mail letter
4. Sit back and wait.
5. Get money back
6. Get on with your life

THE END

josietex:

Will you do us all a favor and post the pics of the "previous 4 knives" you received from us and when they were received?

Maybe this will help?

Thanks to all.

I am happy to see that others are satisfied with your business.

You might also Note that in this series of emails Mr Job claims to have given me a refund. The stories just kept changing.

Too bad Mr Job was so uncaring in his previous emails and dealings with me

His refusal to refund Email follows.

Mr. Maness,

Sorry to hear about your health issues.

However, all funds were returned through Paypal. Quite sure if you review your records you
will find that was the case in response to a specific request on your part.

Therefore, no money, no knife, sheath, etc. will be forwarded at any time in the future.

Again sorry to hear of your health issues.

I understand it has been some time, like about a year, but when might I expect my knife and sheath I purchased?

I had been very ill and unable to do much till latly.

Thanks

WOW!

I must admit I am a loss for words!

First you publish a bunch of accounts that are from an unknown uncertified account record
with an amazing amount of refund activity and a purported E-mail with a date of 14th of
Augst purported to be from me to you refusing to pay money back on a transaction that
you paid for on the the 16th of August. 2008.

Frankly enough of your contorted nonsense. Send the certified letter stating you did not
receive the knife on the 13th of August, 2008 ,(remember you last email from me was on
the 14th purportedly refusing to send a knife or refund money to you for a knife you handn't paid for till the 16th of August. 2008. You've got to be kidding.

Looking forward to the investigation by UPS following you letter.

Thanks again,

RNJ

My $0.02 opinion is that Mr Job has no clue what happened to that transaction and has absolutely no documentation to prove anything one way or the other. If the shipping documentation existed on his end, he would have already posted it for all to see. Would also help explain the "I've got an office full of lawyers" BS bluff and the quick offer for a $$ refund once this was made public.
With that said, if Mr Job's offer of a refund still stands, I would think the only option you have left is to send the certified letter.

Letter is sent By certified, return receipt requested US Mail.

And you bring up a good point, some of the OPs here have really opened my eyes to the fact that the service I did receive was less than professional.

Note the statement below from Rhondi

"As I opened with on my earliest response, all knives sold from this source have
an unlimited (anytime, for any reason whatsoever), guarantee. All knives that
have been finished, refinished, made by, etc. Mr. Job have letters of provenance with them for collecting purposes as did this specific knife."

I have yet to receive a " letters of provenance " on other purchases, so now would be a good time for Rhondi to show her sincerity and send those 4 letters.

It should be easy since their records are so complete.

Wiredge:

Sorry you feel that way. I'm not in the business of changing minds...I do reserve the right
to question the veracity of someone who attaches to this site emails purported to deal with the issues that are being discussed relative to a payment of August 16th, 2008 (OP's
statements) and that are dated August 3rd, 2008 (also OP's attachments see above).

And as for the proof of delivery, OK, I gave him every chance to clean up his act and
behave responsibly in this matter.

UPS Tracking number and delivery can be accessed by all at this very moment directly
on UPS's site. No chance here that "I" am fudging emails, data, etc.

1Z803R124293721663

If he didn't get the knife on that date...what did he get? Go to UPS's site you can
download confirmation directly along with details of signature delivery, etc.

Hope to still get certified letter so that we can get refund out asap and stop this
nonsense.

RNJ

But josietex did not ppal you until 8/16/08. He contends that the shipment referenced above that was delivered on 8/13/08 (I checked it on UPS) was from a previous order he had placed with you (I think that's what I understand).

Wiredge,

Not what was claimed in the earlier postings...he went to great lengths to indicate he
paid for something on the 16th that was not received on the l3th or any other day.

He has yet to clearly say he received anything on the 13th. Gladly accept a statement
from him that he received a specific knife and its description on the l3th.

We both fully discussed in our relative postings that it was my trust in him after he bought the prior three knives that we shipped and he paid for that I went ahead and
shipped the last knife , the combined Bagwell Blade handled by Job, based on his notification that paypall had been paid. I was subsequently notified that the money
was not in our paypall account and in fact an attempt had been made to put it into
a bogus account (referenced by OP in prior postings and blaimed, as is all of this, on
me). This resulted in our paypall account being shut down for weeks while they researched a suspected fraudulent posting. It was after I notified OP that the paypall
records clearly showed the money had returned to his account that he resent the funds
on the 16th to cover the knife delivered on the l3th.

All prior orders, I can dig those out and send UPS confirmed deliveries as well, were
completed substantially earlier than the Augst date. Infact they were completed in July.

Truly sorry for all of the confusion. Should OP see fit to place photos of the knives he
did pay for that he did take delivery of, I would be happy to confirm their respective
delivery dates as I did this last one.

Glad we are hopefully going to restrict ourselves to confirmable data in future postings.

I don't hide behind lawyers...I use them when absolutely necessary to preclude people
from spreading libelous nonsense almost 18 months after the event took place when it
obviously gets far more difficult to retrieve data and records. We do, however, have
complete Paypal and E-bay records on hand from day one to the present as well as the
ability to publish any UPS or USPS delivery records from our sales.

Thanks for the continuing interest.

Yup wiredge, you are correct and the point I have made more than once, I purchased 4 knives before the Bagwell Cable knife, all off Ebay. The seller should be able to document all of those sales and provide the make, model and description on a letter head.

Now maybe others see what I have been facing with the circle of lies from the seller.

This is ridiculous. Both sides are imposing on Bladeforums by posting voluminous correspondence NOT connected with any Bladeforums transaction. Neither of you have any other presence here.

A solution was proposed by one and accepted by the other, to send a certified letter that will allow UPS to process the claim. Do that, and report on the outcome. The rest of this back and forth is meaningless. Its only effect will be to assure both sides that no one here will ever deal with either of you.
