Stolen Rod Olson timascus unique one!!!

The only reason I posted here is "because here we go again !" I carried mail for over 35 years and you know how many cases of a USPS employee stealing mail I seen ? A grand total of one, yes UNO Employee! I bet that pos is still sitting Federal Pen somewhere. You know Corhoff the vast number of Postal Employees are honest people also and you come here yelling thief. Don't put a purse on the car and hop on the freeway and then claim theft .
If that's the way you ship knives, please try UPS !
This is probably a case of improper packaging. I have to agree with you about the small likelihood of USPS employees stealing stuff. I've sent through USPS, expensive Mineral and gem specimens for many years, with never an incident. I know coin and bullion dealers that ship everyday, boxes with gold, all through USPS. I've never heard them losing a thing. The main problem is that the novice shipper, doesn't have a clue, on how to properly pack.

You're right, I must have packaged improperly yet supposedly it was still sealed upon receipt and where's the box smashed in the pics with the gaping hole where it fell out? I had the knife in a pouch approx 5"x 3"x 2" completely wrapped in paper so it wouldn't move around in the box yet when it was opened, there was no knife, it was sealed, and the paper was still in there, c'mon.

Like I said, I definitely learned my lesson. I never asked for f&f and would have taken g&s net just the same. I don't go around shipping empty boxes and could care less if the buyer wants to be protected. They should be. And if the post office says that it was empty and can corroborate that and approve my claim, I will happily send the money right away. I've never altered my story once and don't feel the need to keep reassuring people whom I don't know of things. I only repost to say my piece when I'm being questioned. I already feel justified in how I feel seeing all the same feelings here. I'm extremely stressed out, upset and now don't even want to sell my knives ever again because of this catastrophe. I'm not gonna talk smack about anyone or organization. The fraud investigators will track down the truth.

Perhaps you did what is considered normal, but really, these expensive items need to be double boxed. It would be very unlikely for the inner box, to fall through a small hole, in the outer box.

In order to protect myself I made sure I had insurance for the full amount. I will take way more precaution in the future packaging, sealing, and shipping things but I highly doubt it fell out. I've sold and shipped dozens of knives over $1000 with no issue to many happy customers who are now friends. I sent $8000 worth of knives to a dealer and didn't even lose sleep over it so to attack a person because of his packaging skills is a bit rude but it rolls right off the back haha. If I were losing things in the mail all the time or even once I would have changed my methods immediately.

I appreciate all the knowledge I've learned from you guys, I really do. If i ever sell again online I'm going to take extra precautions, like the registered mail idea, I like that. I will also be packaging it in a smaller box within a larger box with tape completely around it. Thanks

It just speculation, on my part, but think about double boxing. If a potential thief, pokes a hole, only to find another somewhat smaller box inside, they may just give up at that point, to avoid attracting undue attention.

What I was trying to explain was that it was very unlikely it slipped out and the paper was still in there. The pouch was wrapped tight with the paper. How could the knife fall out but not the paper with it? Wasn't trying to be rude either if it came off that way I'm just so nauseous from this whole ordeal.

I'm sorry that this had to happen to you guys, and I hope that there is an agreeable resolution.

So if it's not the usps? It's not you Corey ! It's , me then!! I wanted to screw myself ! And make people comment about me , I also sent the money friend and family! So I get screwed even more, then I placed the plastic glove piece over the tape !! Nice!! Maybe !? Now that I pull the tape off a little the package material comes out too? where the blue glove piece is in between two tapes

Did you not read where I said I'm not placing blame anywhere until I find out what's going on? You're blasting this stuff all over the Internet when it could have been handled quite easily between the two of us! It doesn't add up to me and so what if it doesn't that my prerogative to feel that way. Should I say how I really feel right now for all to read? This is absolute bullshit! I'm done with this and will have the USPS mail you a check. How's that?

I am confused.

Vader - when you received the package, was the transparent tape broken or not? That fingernail-sized blue tape or whatever served no purpose of sealing the box. If the wider tape beneath it is intact, even if the box was crushed as shown, there is no way the knife could slip out esp if it was wrapped inside.

How is it difficult to issue a refund through paypal? Do that and collect on the insurance. I'm not sure how this is so complicated. Oh right....paypal gift.

I started this post just in case the knife turned up here , I guess this turned into a whole different conversation , but I never mentioned anything bad or how I feel about you! You let your thoughts out here about how could the package slip out or never had a problem with usps and don't think it is them, so obviously you want the forum to think it's me?
Man I told you let's handle this like grown ups , send me half the funds back and we'll wait for the insurance claim to continue this investigation. And you know very well it's a flat rate box, I don't think they weight this , if they do even better, I already asked the supervisor to get the statement from the lady that brought this over . They have my information and contact , so that's all I could do . Making the claim was your part

There is one piece of tape on one side, and two pieces on the other where the blue piece of a surgical glove or something that was meant to look like it? Is in the middle of the two.
The transparent tape was in place , I ripped it open because the box was too lite

If the knife wasn't in the pouch, and was little maybe could have been pulled out ? Maybe

Because your story doesn't hold up. You said it was all smashed up and clearly there's no damage. Plus other things striking me as scammy. This is very serious to me and I am infuriated this happened and if it were me i would be demanding all the money back but I would have gone to the USPS first and dealt with them until they told me they wouldn't pay me then start asking the seller for money not immediately and only half at that. And for the record did I say anything bad about you or how I feel about you? I think not just stressing my concerns.
