This is probably a case of improper packaging. I have to agree with you about the small likelihood of USPS employees stealing stuff. I've sent through USPS, expensive Mineral and gem specimens for many years, with never an incident. I know coin and bullion dealers that ship everyday, boxes with gold, all through USPS. I've never heard them losing a thing. The main problem is that the novice shipper, doesn't have a clue, on how to properly pack. The only reason I posted here is "because here we go again !" I carried mail for over 35 years and you know how many cases of a USPS employee stealing mail I seen ? A grand total of one, yes UNO Employee! I bet that pos is still sitting Federal Pen somewhere. You know Corhoff the vast number of Postal Employees are honest people also and you come here yelling thief. Don't put a purse on the car and hop on the freeway and then claim theft .
If that's the way you ship knives, please try UPS !
