Store Owners & Sellers Beware

What a piece of garbage, scumbag thief this Vlad is. Then he has the nerve to come and thraten legal action against those that are stating the facts about the criminal actions he has been the perpetrator of. You Vlad are about as slimmy a POS as there is. Any comment, dirtbag?

That's the standard MO of these dirtbags.Threatening legal action is a last minute desperate attempt to disuade people from taking action.
Vlad, your a big POS, my only hope is the authorities slam you hard, and you get butt pumped everyday in jail like the little bitch you are.Try earning a living like the rest of us you lazy,low-life,POS! :barf:

Seems like Keith's Bank Transfer would be pretty safe. Other than that I would think just sending a registered package with the cash (in dollars) would certainly be safe for the seller.

>>After talking this over with Dusty, we get concerned that now there is really no safe way to have a knife paid for.... now we will have to not trust anyone (which we hate to do) and wait for a check or money order to clear, and for international orders, I guess going Western Union or MoneyGram are our only viable options!
Any other suggestions, would be greatly appreciated!

Sad times indeed. Our community grows, yet with it shady interlopers ready to prey on the good intentions of American knifemakers and purveyors. I really hate to tell people I have to wait for their check to clear, for fear of insulting them, but I still have to protect myself. Fortunately, dirtbags like this Vlad guy have helped me to reinforce my policy.

I hope Interpol catches up to this guy, nails his balls to a stump and pushes him over backwards.

As an international customer to many makers and dealers it concerns me to hear how the actions of some of these low lifes impacts on peoples willingness to enter into overseas transactions. The reaction I must agree is understandable, and I therefore bend over backwards to accommodate requests and to try and alleviate any concerns the seller may have.

I would like to summarise ways in which I have found can help achieve a good international transaction:

  1. If it is the first time the two parites have done business, it is not unreasonable to ask for references from other reputable makers, dealers, collectors etc.
  2. An International Money Order drawn on a bank is a fairly good way of securing the initial transaction. In my experience I have had to pay the bank the value of the IMO at the time of issuance, as far as I am aware it is therefore guaranteed. This is not a quick transaction but if a maker and buyer have waited a long time whats a few more days.
  3. The quickest, cheapest, and most secure method for large amounts is a direct bank transfer. If the seller is willing to provide bank account, address, and IBAN details a payment can be made in a day or two. Of course some people are reluctant to give out bank details, but once mutual trust is there it is not a problem. Incidentally in many European banking systems, personal cheques do not exist, you have to pay by cash, credit card, debit card, or very commonly Direct Bank Transfer, it is very common to hand over your bank details to strangers.
  4. I have used PayPal and will gladly do so if the seller requests it, but I am unsure about how secure it really is if the buyer wants their money back.
  5. Both parties should understand that 99% of the time people are honest and straight with each other, and that the reason some precautions are necessary is not personal distrust but a necessity of our time.
  6. Please check any Western Union type transfers you may make/accept, reference the terms and conditions. If I am not mistaken their use for internet purchases is not permitted (very fine print IIRC).
  7. Open quick communication both ways is vital ........ if it smells bad, chances are its rotten.

In todays world there is no need for buyers or sellers to exclude certain markets if they don't want to, however because on the unscrupulous and illegal behaviour of some, extra precautions are necessary.

It looks like he has several IP address's

This guy seems pretty good at scamming, so I'd think that he'd know better than to use his home IP. There's a good chance that he's using either a library computer lab, internet cafe, or something similar for his scamming work to avoid getting caught or brought to a stop. Luckily, there can only be so many computers to use, so an ongoing list of IPs might help.

Didn't he say he was moving on to archery equipment and bows? The guys who sell the high dollar stuff better watch out.

The first order he placed with me was all archery equipment. He's also not the sharpest knife in the drawer. What raised a flag with me with his order was, he went down the page of broad heads and ordered one of every type.

I also want to point out, beware of all orders from Russia! We get bogus orders about once a week from Russia, and we have since stopped taking any International orders. Just not worth the risk for a small business like us.

I have posted a warning about Vlad on all the knife forums I frequent. Everything possible has to be done to warn others about thieves like this.

The word is out about him.
Maybe other scam artists and thieves would get the picture and think twice before they try to pull this crap.

Good work guys, I know that he hurt a some good folks including Paul.

Let's at least not let him get away with more.

Hello, all. I've been so busy over the holiday season that I didn't even look at this post until today. About two weeks after my last post in this thread and the post on the other sites, the Israli police called and I talked a good while to a detective who was well aware of this guy and his scams. He assured me that they were close to nailing him.
I won't give any more details, Vlad probably looks at these threads, but please know that I referred the authorities to these site postings, and I'm sure several of you have also heard from them.

I probably don't look at the forums enough, theyr'e a great business resource and thank you all for your input and the forums!
