If you post anything negative there you can expect to be banned there. It is a form of Sniping, it's "one post-one kill"

Being banned is obviously something good because most of those banned are good people. One must learn to cowtow, kiss ass, and suck D** to survive on some forums. If you don't you will never see or hear the "shot" coming. That's the mark of a good sniper!!!

I am not sure this is completely fair. The last time that this erupted, there were some pretty deliberate statements about the consequences of initiating a cross forum flame war. I think that activities viewed as such will be dealt with swiflty.

I think the mods and Spark would be just as quick to issue infractions here for cross posting content. I do no think there is an infraction system there, so it is the hatchet. I don't see the value in cheap shotting Dave or other who have "dual citizenship".

Lets keep the cross forum crap out of this thread, and stick to the subject at hand. What goes on over 'there' isn't our concern.

I will also agree with some of you here; this whole mess could be ended with some factual information posted someplace by Dwyer or Strider.

I don't care who posts it, it would just be nice if anyone at all would post something official supporting the claim that Dwyer was a sniper. As it is, there isn't any reason for me to think he was.

One side has presented a DD214 showing nothing about infantry, sniper training, zip. Three entities (POW, RVN, STR) have claimed that the SSN for the 214 matches Dwyer's, and nobody has shown a similar level of effort in providing something contradictory.

Personally, I don't care if it affects someone else's buying habits, I don't care who is friends with whom, I don't care if it affects anyone's business, I don't care if someone hates someone else. A claim was made that Dwyer was a sniper in the Corps. Someone has provided paperwork saying that is not true. No one has provided anything to say it is.

This wasn't cross forum "sniping" (Isn't that an overused term, anyway?)
This was a case of ME being mentioned a USN as an instigator by Lifter.
When I confronted Lifter via email, he quickly banned me from USN.
I really don't care.

I just expected more courtesy from him than the standard internet shmuck.

I guess its hard to "see the light" when your head is so far up someone else's .....

What bothers me is I own dozens of Strider knives and I am a paying customer here. This kind of post de-values my assets and nobody but Strider knife owners are punished.

Why is this tolerated? What have I done to Spark and bubba to deserve this kind of treatment? :grumpy: Not kidding either. My Strider customs either wont sell at all or go for hundreds less that before all this. Me and people like me are the only losers here. WHY IS THIS ALLOWED TO CONTINUE?

I was just going to read and keep my mouth shut but this comment really burned me up. Someone is misrepresenting their military history, at a time hundreds of thousands of service members are risking their lives overseas and you are worried about the value of your knife collection?!?!?!?! What am I missing here? I served and I served honorably and this really touches a nerve. Talk about a total lack of honor with these two twinks.

Second, I think buying a knife designed and made by a data clark and some other guy rather then from two SpecOps guys is rather germane to these forums. If you have a beef with the value of your collection take it up with the guys that defrauded you; Strider Knives, not the guy who revealed the fraud.

Ok, I'd like to know something then, Mr. Masterson.

If Lifter (Dave) is who he claims; a man of God and integrity, why is he banning people for stating their opinions on the matter at hand? This isn't something new for him, either. These are FACTS. Lifter et al can do whatever they please at whatever forum they are responsible for. We don't play those games here at Bladeforums. We give everyone a fair shake in all matters, including this one.

I could go on forever on this subject, but the fact remains; if you choose to ask the hard questions about this subject on other forums, you are either banned, deleted, or edited away. Why? What exactly are all of these people afraid of? The TRUTH? Thats what I think.

Now, my only concern here is that we do not engage in cross forum flamefests, and that we allow people to speak their minds, and offer their opinions on the subject at hand, without personal attacks or trolling. Bladeandbarrel did NOT personally attack Lifter IMHO, and no one in this thread is deliberately attacking Dwyer, Strider, or Strider Knives, Inc. Strider Knives Inc. makes a damn good product. That isn't the dispute. The knives stand on their own. They don't need all of the hyperbole to make their knives better.

What people here are trying to do is find out the truth. Now, like I stated earlier; Dwyer, and Strider themselves can end all of these questions once and for all by posting answers or a statement wherever they wish, with verifiable proof of their statement.

As long as everyone is left to speculate, then threads like this wil continue here, and elsewhere.

I was just passing along my experience. I have met Dave several times in the flesh and always found him to be a genuinely nice person, but as you know, people can act quite differently over email than they do in person.

This forum is the only knife forum on the internet where you will not get banned for telling the truth-when did the truth become such a hard thing for people to tolerate?

In life you are judged for the company you keep. Life is too short to associate with liars, cheats, thieves, a-holes or posers. I did that once for several years and it soured me for good. I worked for a prominent knife company (Now defunct) run by the poser of all posers. A man who claimed he was everything but in reality was nothing. A very charming character and a hell of a knifemaker who was also a flaming liar. At one time he had over 100 people working for him, believing his lies. His background was phony. His accomplishments were phony and his actions damaged the lives of many.

The feds finally shut him down for fraud, but guess what? He is back. Round 2 I guess. He is not affiliated with Strider Knives, but this episode looks like a replay of the past to me. Maybe why I am so sensitive to phony tales of military intrigue, confirmed kills and such to sell freaking knives. Not worth it.

I find it interesting that his supporters wouldn't want top quality advice. What a disservice...it's better then anything I've seen so far!! I was a trial member so I didn't think it was appropriate to post there without lurking longer (other then about my new baby..wanta see pictures?).

Here is an example of what could have been said...but wasn't:

Instead, what we saw was a message focused on "no comment" and "losers"....so are PR folks surprised that some supporters resorted to the same? Instead, something like the above blah blah blah would attempt to signal and steer the discussion in a positive manner.

Change the website before Marketers have a bird too...first line says "whose goal is the evolution of problem solving tools"?? What? Just remove that part.

Actually Lifter, you "banned" me before you asked me to stop emailing you at approx. 9AM. I emailed you twice after you called me out, by name on USN for "stirring the pot" on Bladeforums. Just because you have 10,000+ posts doesn't make you right! Not sure why my USN account should be disabled because I emailed you? That seems kind of pissy...maybe you were having a bad hair day?

I have always known Dave to be a man of integrity and a guy that goes to the wall and beyond to help out or support a buddy.

That's all that has happened here, there's nothing insidious. I know Dave and how much value he puts on watching the back of his friends, I wish I had a friend so dedicated.

Dave is one of the good guys and his beliefs concerning the bonds of friendship are admirable.

Please be specific. It might help me to understand your position. Who are you talking about?
