Strider let down

My strider SnG has the slightest lock rock but is otherwise perfect with double gunner grip. On the topic of CRK, I have the Umnumzaan and the Sebenza 21. Both are unbelievably tight and....just perfect fit and finish. In my opinion, you get more bang for your buck with an Umnumzaan vs an SnG. Both can be had for around the same price on the exchange on a good day. And for a curveball, I have a ZT0561 and the thing is amazing for the price. Locks up like a safe, perfectly centered blade, came as sharp or sharper than any knife I've bought before. Just waiting to see how the ELMAX fairs over time.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to opinion.

I agree, the Zaan cuts better too, I miss my 2 I had, but sold off. :(

I doubt most people would have an issue if the person could prove that they actually owned the knife in question, since this is the internet photos are the only way to actually prove they own it.

Without photos to back it up they don't own it. ;)

Especially the expensive knives like Strider, CRK, Hinderer etc, those aren't cheap knives.

The problem is MOST that gripe never owned one or likely ever saw one in real life so they make up stories or repeat something they read.

Sure some have real problems just like any other brand as things do get through sometimes, and they are directed to the right source to have the problem fixed.

Like this thread, the OP has photos and nobody is blasting him at all.

As an aside, how do you show photos of a dangerously weak detent? Because I had that problem with a moderately priced, as in 400 bucks, "tough use" knife "for first responders and the military." The stupid thing would just flop open in my pocket. When I had to chase someone it was just begging to slice my leg open. God forbid I accidentally cut someone during a scuffle. There really was basically no detent. I was basically told to screw off by a company rep, both by email and here when I posted that email, when I said it was dangerously unsafe. There are many, many reports about the weak detent that I didn't know about until way after I sold the knife. Am I just trolling because I can't post pictures and others have had the same problem so we all sound like we're parroting each other? Or is it truly a problem and apologists simply try to cover up shoddy/ unsafe work?

Of course your lying. I only say this because I am being a coward and not going to listen to you anymore because your results/situation doesn't agree with mine. /peoples way of thinking when they call someone a liar in a conversation.

This guy likes Striders. Has 4 and had to return 3 to get fixed and 1 came back and developed the same problem. I've already posted the video but here it is again because I didn't give a discription.

My point for bringing up the video again is that he sent 3 knives back... that he had to pay shipping for... both ways. How much did he say that was?

Sure, he has the money I mean he bought 4 expensive knives to some people but that should not be/isn't the point. Fact is that he had to ship 3 of 4 back to the maker to get fixed. 1 again if he wanted to try to have it fixed a second time.

I have had two. 1 still and I'm willing to live with the problems.

Pic for proof because that is what is needed apparently.

It's more post a photo of the knife in question really showing the problem if they can. :)

It's the old saying: Pictures or it didn't happen, that is the general rule especially here on BF you will see it more often than not.

It's very hard to argue against photos and it legitimizes the thread etc. :)

I WANT that SebbesKnivar sooooo bad

Too bad. I don't think I'll ever let it go. Except to 1 knife maker and even then probably not. :)

I think Sebastian said he made 13 knives last year. I'm not on his books so I'm keeping this "Lefty Larsson" *now it's finally named* Not the best name but I was calling it a lefty flipper so there you go.

You could start with a picture of the receipt showing shipping going back to the manufacturer. Maybe a scanned copy of your written letter of concern relating to the problem you have and want fixed. I'd follow that with a couple pictures of your EDC Baton for the dead horse that is being beaten.

Kinda of like going on a Watch forum or a Car forum and saying you have a (Enter Expensive item here) like say a Rolex or a Ferrari and don't post photos of it.

Nobody will believe you actually own it. ;)

Liar. Strider would have told you to send the knife in sir. :)

That was the first thing they suggested but I insisted I could put a couple of screws in and so a few days later I got an envelope in the mail with screws taped to a business card.

I threw them in and I still have and love that blade.

Except you still do and the person saying you don't is just an ass. :)

If they can't provide it then you have to take them at their word until they prove otherwise.

Nice, got some free screws and all it took was lying. Like they would send a knife without any screws in it. Calling BS on this one. :) j/k

I usually do give people the benefit of the doubt at 1st.

If it's a problem with the said knife I usually point them in the right direction if I see the thread and bother to post in it.

But if it's really bad and it goes on and on I will usually ask for photos if they sound like they are just belly aching just to see if it's real.

If they can't provide photos I usually leave the said thread after that without saying much. ;)

Indeed. You uncovered my secret get rich scheme. I buy something and then tell the company I am missing screws and then they send them to me. I have 3.2 million screws in my garage. When I hit 4 million I am opening my own fastener store!

I'll be rich!!!

:D

That was amusing really, how it got past both Strider and the Seller with no screws being they are packed in a clear plastic zip lock bag.

I was not so amused at the time I can assure you. Truly happened though. I have the knife in front of me as I type this because I dug it up remembering how much I like it.

I wouldn't have been either, I would have been on the phone with the seller 5 mins after i got it.

Then shot an email to Mick.
