Stubby folders

I have a kershaw shuffle and I like the size of it but I'm not a fan of the steel. This thread is Not what I was planning on coming across today, damnit... Thanks for making me want to spend some of, hell, a lot of my money.
I'm liking all of them...

I do reco that you talk to Jim Allen, an amazing gentleman and a fine craftsman. I've had four of his Beasts, IIRC, in 154cm, CPM154, and two in M390. Jim is one of the nicest folks I've met on this forum. He returns emails immediately, and can bump you to the head of the list if the need is there...in his eyes. He's a natural wonder is many ways...you need to talk to him sometime and get "the rest of the story." I really like the guy. Have given the latest of his new Beasts to one of my grandsons, so that means something to me.

I did get Jim's story.

Thanks.

Sometimes those 2.3"-2.5" folders are all you need and a slightly thicker stock comes in handy.

My favorite of all of them is actually AdV Mini TAC-Butcher. A little bigger but more versatile.

Although the blade width is a bit narrower than the others you own, my Spyderco Dice is now my go to small knife. I like it better than my Techno or Chubby. Incredibly smooth action with either flipper or Spydie hole.

Great photos (as usual), Ram, and thanks for the comparison stats.

My favorite is the 0900 followed by the Techno.

The only one I've got is the 0900. One of my co-workers has a MPR. That is a beefy little folder.

Kingdom Armory Mini Samaritan Ti has been on my list.

Yeah it's a great blade. A guy just sold one in the exchange for a really good price. The Pro-Tech is cool too, gotta add at least one auto to your collection.

Version 2 of the Mini Samaritan is more refined with a stonewashed frame instead of bead blast, higher grind, earlier lockup, etc. You can tell the difference because V2 only has a logo on the blade instead of the word Kingdom.

I have a few of those ProTech California-legal just under 2" blade automatics: Sprint and Runt. I wouldn't call them stubby as the blade is rather thin at 0.10"-0.11". Regardless, they're handy little buggers.

I'm really drooling over that Andre deVilliers mini Butcher!

Today, I'm carrying the Boker Pipsqueak in my watch pocket and I have a 940-1 in my back pocket. Now, I'm looking hard at the MPR and the Heat/F. Also, the Techno. I like a good Spyderco, myself.

I blame RamZar. He's my official enabler on here. :) :) :)

You're too funny. :)

Right now, you have a choice of either S30V or CTX-XHP for the Techno.

If you look at the chart the ones with the longer handles are definitely more comfortable to use. The DPx HEAT/F with full 3D diamond-pattern titanium is particularly nice and includes a tungsten carbide glass breaker and bottle opener. Plus, it still gives you almost a 4" handle although the blade is shorter.

Nice man. Ya I have V2 I believe.
