its been over a week (right before thanksgiving) that ive sent payment for the cqc listed by StypeCL: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=793533. he assured me it would go out the following monday and thats the last ive ever heard of him. i have not received the cqc-8 in the mail or any notification that it has been shipped. hes logged on several times onto bladeforums but has ignored all my emails and a visitor message i left for him.

has anyone purchased and received their knives from StypeCL? any feedback from anyone whos dealt with him before?

i think myself and several others who have sent payment for knives may have been screwed, any advise on what to do? :(

Same thing here. I sent my payment via pay pal and after that, nothing. No knives, no info. I've been wondering what to do myself. I've always been weary of internet purchases, but after a few through blade forums I've felt pretty good about dealings with the members. Especially since "paypal is the safest way to pay" so they say. I hope someone who has dealt with him in the past and actually gotten their knives can shed some light on the subject.
 
Guys keep in mind that if you did use PP and did not use the gift option you should be covered. Just remember that there is a time limit, I believe 45 days, so file a dispute soon.

yep kept that in mind and unfortunately i did use the gift option to save a fellow member some bucks in fees. this is my first ill experience dealing with another member on this forum. sucks that it has to happen around the holidays.
 
This is why I NEVER use the gift option. Even as a seller, I let people know to use the regular payment option in paypal so that things are safer for both parties (and so they have some comfort in knowing they can get their money back if I keel over and die before shipping the knife out :)).

People aren't supposed to be charging YOU the paypal fees anyways, it's the cost of business and saving you time and gas from using a money order (same for the seller).

I really hope that things work out for all of you who bought from this seller, I subscribed to that for sale thread because I also wanted the CQC-8 for $95 but unfortunately for you, you beat me to it :o

This is awful. I hope all works out. They say miracials happen most this time of year. I sure hope that's true.
 
yep it really sucks lol but i like to have faith in man and fellow forum brethren.
damn, didnt really think he would make a run for it just for $95 :( with the little money i had to spend this holiday i thought i could treat myself to a gift. guess i was wrong...

i hope he spends the money stolen from us on charitable christmas gifts for starving orphans.
 
Have you notified the Mods yet? Since he still is offering knives up for sale here on BF, it would be good to stop others from being taken by him. If this is just a misunderstanding, then the seller would be motivated to respond faster.

i personally have not notified moderators yet (unsure of who to notify) but i did post the current situation in his for sale thread with a link to this one. it may be a misunderstanding which is why i posted here but im not sure how i could be misunderstanding the fact that hes been logging on at least once a day on the forum ignoring our emails and the 2 visitor messages i left him.
 
I hope this works out and you get your knife, but, as I read the selling thread, it says "paypal fees included" which means you went out of your way to save the seller money by cheating paypal out of their fees. If you had been honest initially, then you would be in a much better position and almost certainly would get your money back.

How does paypal get "cheated"?? They take their cut up front on every transaction.
 
Luckily I didn't use the gift option. I did pay the fee's for him though. I am going to give him another week to produce something. You never know? But if I don't get anything I'll try to get my 300+ bucks back from pay pal. I would have rather had my knives though. At this point I'll be happy to get either the money or the knives.

yeah sure i went out of my way to save a fellow bladeforums member about $4 to buy himself a beer... shame on me!, i thought it would be a kind gesture. i did not expect anybody to rip me off for $95

im so naive i know, having faith in mankind? what the hell was i thinking lol

One guy does not represent humanity...or even BladeForums. Hope you get your knife, but if you don't then you might want to explore letting PP know they have a seller who is circumventing their fees. I don't know if they would work to get your money back, but they could possibly stop him from doing it to somebody else.

i doubt paypal will be able to get my money back, thats the risk of using paypal gift as a method of payment and a risk that i took. to be honest the last time this has happened to me i sent a regular payment (non gift) and paypal will still unable to help me get back my money back. if its not from a verified seller (like ebay or an online store) or he created a paypal account which was not linked to any bank account and had a check cut out to him (which has been cashed) theres nothing paypal can do in your favor. at least that was my experience :barf:

one person of course doesnt represent mankind. im just fooling around trying to make myself feel better. i just had a little too much faith... and i still do, hopefully stypecl has a legitimate reason to why nobody has received their knives.
 
This is the main reason why I always us a US Postal Money Order, and ship via USPS Priority Mail...If something goes wrong, I can file a report and have the US Postal Inspectors look into it.

I hate that this is happening to you guys and I hope it gets resolved, however, IMHO using the gift option seems about as bad an idea as not insuring something you are shipping. Again, sorry guys. To all members, not a good idea to wrongfully use the gift option. Like Glockman said, a USPS MO is a good way to go. -DT
