Super Blue Stretch

Wow that edge came out great! Have you used it yet? I found a site that actually had these on the shelf. Mine will be here next week :) My preorder placed in Dec is still in limbo. Seven days is feeling a bit like eternity after seeing your pictures.

I'd like to see the polished clips on the lighter colored knives as well.

Thank you. I took it down to about 25 degrees inclusive (12.5 per side) but will likely thin it out a bit the next time I sharpen.

I've used it on some cardboard and simple stuff around the office so far. Unlike with my previous Super Blue pocket knives, I'm not going to force a patina on this one. Although some people seem to be disappointed that the blade is laminated, I'm very happy that it is. I have far less worry about rust under the scales.

I find it interesting that several people in this thread were on a preorder but have yet to receive notification or an email that their knife has shipped. I didn't even preorder mine--I just signed up to get an email that they were in stock. Admittedly, though, I did make my purchase within a couple of minutes of that email.

I cancelled my order from KC and just waited for it to pop up on GP or HQ. Mainly because I had heard from some who preordered the Cru-wear Military and were left with no chair once the music stopped. I didn't want to miss this one by relying on a preorder. YMMV.

I was one who couldn't get a chair in time :'(

Congrats, Mr Slosz! I just had been eyeing this one for awhile and didn't want to miss out.

Munchy, sorry to hear that, that stinks. Wanted to also say hello to a fellow Wisconsinite. :)

Got my shipping notice from KnifeCenter also. FYI to anybody who cares, I also pre-ordered in June. Looking forward to having a Stretch again! Briefly owned a BRG ZDP iteration but passed it onto my dad before he went deer hunting last season. He loves it, and while it'll eventually make it's way back to me I've needed to get my Stretch itch scratched! Mine arrives Monday and will be an instant user.

I don't mind the uneven clad marks personally. My SB Ladybug is off on both sides, but I find it still cuts just fine. :D

I like the black clip..it looks better on this knife and doesn't stand out as much when in the pocket..

Received another weekly email from KC order is still processing etc. Next email was from bladeops with a tracking number :) When I spoke with KC on Monday thay said they began taking preorders in April. I'll try and order within 3 months next time. I think I just got lucky this time. Watching the clock....5 days 13 hours......

Now the search is on for a small flashlight to pair it with.

I received mine today from Knife Center which was an early preorder. It might be the sharpest out of the box Spyderco I have purchased and that is a fairly large sample size. The lamination lines are not perfect but they are acceptable given the user status of the knife. The lines are pretty symmetrical as well as having a consistent height although one side has a small blip about a 1/2 inch from the tip.

I'm a big fan of the Stretch and of Aogami Super steel so I am extremely grateful to Sal for bringing this bad boy to market.

Just picked one of these up from BladeOps and I'm pretty excited to get it. It's got me thinking about other Super Blue sprint runs I might be interested in...

It landed, first Stretch. Impressive

I've got the wrong Para for this pic :(, but still 3 sweet blades

One thing I've noticed is that the 420J1 cladding seems to pick up scratches much easier than the 420J2 cladding on my Caly 3 and 3.5. If you are trying to keep your knife in pristine condition, you should keep that in mind.

My SB Delica seems to have more scratches than my Caly 3 ZDP-189, but they are fainter and less noticeable. When my Caly 3 scratched it was a big ugly one. I polished it with a dremel and carry only when I need a "classy" knife (not very often).

Good to know. I was planning on this to use but still want to stay looking in good condition.

I got this in the mail yesterday!!!!!! Wasn't expecting it until today. What an awesome St Patricks day! I love the look of the blade but how it feels in the hand has me sold. It's a perfect fit for me. As for the clip I was considering changing it out but seeing the true color I'm ok with with the black clip but would prefer it ride lower in the pocket. It came perfectly centered and no blade play. The lamination isn't perfect as in the sides don't match but one would have to be looking for that in order to notice it. It's not a deal breaker for me. Overall very happy with it.

I have a Ladybug in Superblue and I cannot believe how well it cuts. I have mainly sharper my kids pencils with it, and the blade just sails through the wood! Superblue in a larger blade must be incredible!

It's definitely one of my favorite steels. I like how well it takes a superfine polished edge and how well it holds that edge.

Over the weekend I should have time to throw up a review which I'll link here.

Got mine today - my first stretch and my first SB blade. Far too early for me to post any comments other than how it feels in my hand (which it hasn't left since I picked it up earlier today).

I am really liking the size and ergos on this - it is even challenging my Caly 3.5 for pocket time. Just for clarity, I am carrying both right now!

Cheers all,

Ben

Collector's club number. I prefer to not have a CC version, in fact I leave a note to dealers to not send me one, this SB Stretch is no exception I ordered from Knifeworks. I prefer a cleaner blade so just a matter of preference. Some are willing to pay extra for those, some cant stand them. If anyone has a BNIB SB Endura without a CC number Im willing to trade mine that has one!
