Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

And how would you suggest they make money so they can test the new steel if not taking preorders for a whole batch production?? You sir know nothing about business 😁
With all the pre-orders why couldn't they produce the other steels they committed to? Where is the Delta 3V, 20CV, Magnacut, Cru-forge, and the other steels they have said they were going to make? They keep changing steels so they don't have to send out the knives they promised to make. Seriously over 20 knife models and they can't finish any model in 2 years. Where is the GSO 5.1 since 2016 so keep in mind that is 7 years now. What knife order has been completed in the past 5 years? What about all the updated videos saying if you order from us you will get your knife in months not years?

Nothing they say is true "EVER". They either LIED when they said they had all the steel for the pre-orders they took or they are still lying now when they state they can't make the knives in delta 3V, Cru-forge, Magnacut, or 20CV. You don't think there is an issue with people who ordered a knife in one steel only to have it change over and over and the years get tagged onto their orders. You can bet the that every email response from them is we should getting through the bottle neck soon and you are expected to get your knife soon and that excuse will drag you on for years. Gotta love by Christmas excuse which they don't care about as I heard that one for 3 years.

So do you think a bait and switch is a good way to run a business?
Do you think that telling people you will get your knife in 3 or 4 months and you don't have steel for that model and know that they will not get their knife in 3 or 4 years if ever.
Do you think taking money and counting on them asking for a refund in 3 years so you can get an interest free loan for years so you can pocket the dividends for things other than making knives?
How many knife companies make it without taking pre-orders on knives they wont make for 7 years and counting and still add new models knowing that they will not get made.
What happened to the SK line that was going to reduce demand and got scraped after 2 years?
What happened to the essential line that never was made?

Why do they need so much money to test steel. The companies have the process for knives posted.
With that in mind Survive doesn't heat treat their steel. They don't test steel at all. Peters does all that work.
They put knives together and they don't do that often enough

You are so right, but then I’ve never been in the shystering business👍
He forgot that they don't test or make their steels. They order sheets of steel from Peters. We know nothing about running a business according to him but we know a crook when we see it. Just watch their video saying that 20CV will get upgraded to Magnacut and now another steel. They don't have those steels on hand to cut or sharpen.
Go watch their Magnacut Video. Note they sold those that they did make and made up some BS excuse to ditch the other orders in that steel and replaces it with years of wait and I am sure they will change steels again.

Well...i was been sarcastic but at least my comment served as an outlet source for you:thumbsup:

Here to ask if anyone has received their cerakoted GSO 5.1 from the decarbonized batch of blanks. It has been over 2 months since I placed my order and the only reason I placed the order in the first place was because the listing said that "These knives are built and orders will ship within 15 business days." as this is supposed to be a birthday present for a friend whose birthday has already came and went. At this point I am starting to look like kind of an ass for ordering a gift that is now going to arrive way late. I know that Survive just moved back to Pennsylvania and have a small team so was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. I have heard the horror stories but figured I would roll the dice. I sent them multiple emails and actually finally got a response from Ellie on April 10th stating that "I should have that knife headed your way by the end of next week likely sooner" well that time has come and gone and still no shipment. So I am just curious if anyone has received their cerakoted GSO 5.1 in the last couple of weeks or so? My friend really wants the knife but if it is going to take 6 months to a year I don't know if he is going to want to wait that long and if I should just start the process of trying to get my money back.

Par for the course with S!K. I hope the situation gets resolved for you. I’d suggest continuing to hammer them with emails about it.

Going forward, I’d suggest never giving them the benefit of the doubt. They have screwed over too many people, too many times, for that sort of grace to be afforded to them. It’s been a decade of nonstop lies.

I’d send Ellie’s email back to her, tell her they’ve blown two promised dates, you want your money back. Ask for an explanation as to why they missed the first 15-day ship date, and then why they missed a week or less. It should make for some interesting reading.

Sorry you’re going thorough this aggravation, but it seems to be the norm with them more often than not. Lying sacks of crap.

Her explanation for the knife not being shipped out in the original 15 day window listed was this "I apologize for the delay, we were told our new workshop would be ready for us on March 1st but that was very wrong." I sent another email Monday asking for an update and if they could provide some kind of firm idea/date when I can expect it to ship will probably send another email tomorrow. Thanks for your assistance and thoughts I probably should have known better hopefully I will be able to make some positive progress in the coming days.

Absolutely! Get a refund and buy from someone who gives a crap about customers. The latest move will provide more excuses for delays and lies.

They have a never-ending list of excuses. The issue with your order is not due to their most recent move. There are still orders unfilled from 2015. They have said on video that they will "fight you toe to toe about getting a refund..." Work with you CC company to get a refund ASAP. Ellie and Guy have a history of not living up to their commitments to customers.

Don't need a workshop to ship a finished knife and if they're unable to use the workshop they're not making knives so they have time to ship the finished ones.

It was just another lie to get money.

"15 business days" to ship a finished knife- Utterly ridiculous.

Unfortunately for their fans, their new shop won't be up and running for approximately 278 more business months, but not to worry, Guy will be releasing a new design and/or old design in a new blade steel for you to preorder soon!

In their defense I'm to understand there may be a supply chain issue on this new brown crinkle cut box material they use in packaging their shipments. (Photo attached).

There's really a lot more to it from a YouTube I watched. I'm a Patreon supporter of a Pinterest crafty woman who has designed a new color of this stuff and prototyped it with her Cricut machine. Her name is Larrina Thomassa if you want to follow her. None of the shenanigans to follow are her fault. She was able to get a national paper manufacturer to contract make sheets of it in her Pantone color match and then ship to another company that handled the crinkling and shredding as well as distribution and shipping. However, when they sent to Survive there was a variation in the crinkle as well as the lengths, oh and color. Both companies refuse to replace the crinkle, deeming both crinkle wave shape (sinusoidal) and length well within functional tolerances. (Interestingly they now have "fixed" both issues). It has taken Survive only 17 weeks to decide that it's just not worthwhile to sort through and standardize each piece of crinkle pack. So they had to scrap the entire shipment.

Most knives not from 2015 to 2018 should be going out in the next 7 weeks. It may take up to 3-5 years more for the 2015 - 2016 knives because although they have those finished the boxes for them are too long.

You should have more compassion everyone. As a small batch craft manufacturer of 32 SKU's that are changing in real time as new steels are developed: they only have 4 people to answer the hundreds of thousands of emails that come in hourly asking for updates on their pre-orders from the 12th thru 19th Centuries. Each email, phone call or knife that needs to be packaged and shipped, takes away valuable time that could be used bidding on a new piece of in-house equipment that none of the 4 employees yet know how to use.

This is just what I heard. I could be totally wrong. If so my apologies for any misinformation.

That is some funny stuff. You had me thinking you were serious for the first few lines. Cheers!

Had a friend recently order one of their "available in stock" models not knowing about this thread. Long story short, after over a month of not getting any confirmation, tracking, replies to emails or the knife itself, he is disputing it with his credit card company. In comparison, I waited 6 years on my pre-order. However, this was suppose to be a knife ready to go and they just blatantly did nothing about it.

That deserves a gold star ⭐ because the emoji editor was not yet ready for the scratch and sniff version.

All their videos from instagram shows they are working on coated scandi blades, that nobody preordered, and work on blades in new K890 steel which also nobody preordered! Insted of worinng on those very overdue preorders! (such as GSO5.1). What a circus.

Yeah but it's a new steel!!! I wonder if they would let me send them some money to reserve one... 🤔
