I don't know anything about you, your channel or your viewership...but I do know this much...you were given a timeout for getting too heated in the thread...and now you are goading me into hitting you with an infraction if you continue your personal attack on me.

I let you have your say, and made a joke to show that there were no hard feelings...but if you continue to attempt throwing me under the bus, you'll only have yourself to blame for the consequences.

If you want people to listen to your story, coming out swinging at everyone and everything again isn’t exactly the approach I’d recommend.

Just for a point of reference, I have little (read: no) appreciation for YouTubers to begin with, to put it as politely as I can. Coming in here with this victim complex isn’t gaining you any points.

How do you know about the new video? Where is S!K posting about this?

BTW, if they do not give the name of the lab, how much S!K paid, disclose any relationship between S!K and the lab, post what tests were done and the full results, and show results of the S!K sample vs a control group, then S!K is just doing PR and not showing proof.

Many people still have a ton of questions about S!Ks peening process and some other things they do during manufacturing. Guy is not a professional machinist and has no experience (outside of S!K) with manufacturing, product and process design, or materials engineering...
 
One thing that most folks who bitch about BladeForums have in common: they come in here, show their asses, and just expect that they can act accordingly without repercussions. This isn't reddit, FaceBook, Twitter, or (insert blank) where disgruntled internet voices can find each other, claim so-called injustice and supposedly speak "truth to power". I appreciate that there is accountability enforced here - precious little of that elsewhere. I'm just bummed now that there is yet another "martyr" for their cause.

I think E has been more than fair, even telling a few of us to cool our jets. You can't expect to antagonize with abandon without eventually getting shown the door. A sentiment that has served me well in the past: Just don't be a dick.

It blows me away that he actually tried that particular tactic. Words from those who have been banned from ANY forum aren't generally to be trusted. I am never left asking "Oh yeah, what did those mean old Admins do?", it's always "What did YOU do to get broomed?"

Beach, everyone who's been banned from this forum were either asshats who couldn't get along to go along, or else they came in with a huge attitude and expected everyone to just live with it. That isn't how BF (or any other forum I've ever been a part* ) always operates. So, maybe you should start considering what the common denominator is amongst all those banned chapped asses who go elsewhere and badmouth this place. I bet you'll find a history of them being banned from other forums as well.

As the good Marshal Raylan Givens proclaimed: "'If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.'

The only knife related YouTube content I watch is Kyle Royer's. (got to admit he's pretty slow with assembly also...)

I love Kyle's (and his dad's) videos! Had the extreme pleasure of meeting them last year at blade. I also like watching FZ Makes, Koss, (our own) Red Beard, Shurap, Slavic Telly, basically any knife maker, who actually MAKES something.

Heck, even Alec Steele's vids are entertaining.

Yeah Kyle's stuff is awesome and great for learning new tricks. I get some satisfaction when once in a while I can say "hey, that's how I do that".

I hope you fellas didn't take my YouTube comments as any kind of slight. As a craftsman and tinkerer, I recognize the value of videos in that regard. I just don't have a lot of patience for "influencer-type" behavior on those platforms. Little or nothing to do with the craft and more to do with reviewing or marketing a product or themselves for clicks that turn into revenue. I'm not into it.

No, I agree with you entirely. I have no time or interest in whatever these guys do on YouTube. The exception being KR who is an exceptional craftsman. From what I gather the channels you're talking about are totally different.
 
I follow very few Youtube people, I just don't love how I'll be looking for info on a knife and every single friggin' video is ten plus minutes long. You start it up, and the first few minutes are some blah blah blah that's going on in their personal life, or their "reaction" to another YouRuber's* video, or participating in some drama to drive clicks, or whatever. It's tedious. I'm not sitting through unrelated nonsense just to see a knife. Oh, and I'm running two or three different adblockers, so I am not seeing your ads either. Oops!

About the only longform videos I watch these days are from guys like The Knife Doctor or Paddy. Just a couple old duffers sitting there chatting about slipjoints (and in Doc Kevin's vids, repairing or cleaning them up). Nice pleasant background music, and I see a lot of old knives, which is something I enjoy. I don't take any enjoyment from Youfluencers showing yet another unobtanium knife the peasants won't be able to buy, that they got for free because they have a certain number of viewers. Also, an awful lot of softhanded dudes talking about hard use as they're sitting at a table talking behind a camera. LOL Come on, now. "This knife is from my good friend (insert hot maker of the moment here)" Translation: I got this knife for free in order to drive more traffic to this guy's knives.




* Seriously, the incestuous nature of a lot of these people in how they all try to basically get folks to be following all these channels, talking about "Go give my gooood friend a follow at etc. etc." I'm not following or subbing to any of those channels, bro. I'm not even subbed to you. LOL It just all comes off as a "We are here to make money off of you." I hate being the product.

I have said before clearly he can't successfully run a business we can talk about weather or not he has intent to defraud or not it doesn't matter the best case scenario for SK is that they are incompetent at running a knife business, and probably any business, for this reason they need to sink and be gone it will be unfortunate for those who may never get made whole but the industry will be better severed by the end of one incompetent business that has had an overly prolonged and public death.
