Not that it's worth anywhere near $700+(especially since any expectation of warranty is now completely gone), but it's very possibly not actually a 2nd. He'd get a batch ready that was already paid for, claim there was something wrong with them, then sell what he had as 2nds. Hell, he did preorders for 2nds. I mean, even if one expects to have some 2nds, and sure that's perfectly possibly, one can't reasonably expect to actually know the number of knives that won't pass muster and be designated as 2nds....unless of course one presells them and knows how many to mark as such, just to stretch the scam a bit further.

He did this for 3rds as well. Seconds AND thirds. The documentation is here and they lied about it in the thread that got them booted. I wonder if that thread serves as documentation they lied with intention to deceive for profit for legal purposes now that the PA AG is involved.
 
If anything it documents how Ellie also lied and is culpable for her actions that led to a over a million dollars in knives missing.

If any of this gets to court, it won't be 2nds or 3rds, but rather The Fifth that they'll be taking.

Oh, wow... that's a goldmine for your legal system to hopefully delete Guy and Ellie permanently. I hope you make it available to the AG and that they don't do the shifty 'hide money with Ellie offshore then divorce for distance and protection'.

but I have been repeatedly assured that the quality is second to none, it sounds to me like big knife is shaking in their boots because survive just put the industry on notice with maga3vut steel and soon they will DOMINATE THE MARKET, anyone who disagrees is clearly a troll
 
WOW.

Once again I leave BF for a bit and a miss a million pieces of Survive drama. Can't believe they're finally closing. I really dodged a bullet getting my knife a couple months ago, I wonder if me constantly bugging them and filing the credit card chargeback was what prevented me from getting scammed in the end.

In any case though, man, I feel for the people that did. I'm lucky enough to be in a position now where $250 won't break me, but I spent many years where it would've and would be so, so upset if I got taken like that. Seriously, my heart goes out to those people.

Also, may I just reiterate how shocking it is to me that Guy squandered this opportunity? He had so much hype, so much velocity that it seemed inevitable that the company would succeed. All he had to do was not get greedy with preorder money and just sell knives as they got made, and he'd be set for years making a product he loved for a community he (allegedly) loved. Does that not sound like a good life? Sounds pretty good to me.

But what do I know. I'm not a savant like Guy, apparently.
 
That double-engraved knife has to be a second right? Survive! is dedicated to perfection in manufacturing and surely would have added that to the 30% scrap pile...

Is "PHT" for Peters' Heat Treat? Interesting that they laser that on. The double engraving also begs the question...did those idiots even know that their "problem" steel was Magnacut? Or just blanks that they incorrectly marked Magnacut?
