Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

Well, they have a very positive feedback footprint on social media and videos to promote updates and re-invention.
Begs the (rhetorical) question.. how can you be that far behind with such nice equipment and facilities?

Their shop seems decently set up and they seem to be making progress. It seems like a lot of work to go through to fake updates and fake a sense of improved production. Especially so when people were continuing to pump money their way without seeing updates. I like the care they appear to put into their blades (always on and covered by towels). Of course, that could be video production value.

I noticed the last blade I ordered from them went from a 90 day shipping time warning to 4 months shpping warning before ordering it. Owning a couple of these now I don't mind the 4 months wait. With all the updates, new tech, and equipment, it's going to be very difficult for them to justify delays and make excuses why it's taking over 4 months to ship blades out. If that's the case I'll just cancel my order and if they try to ding me a 10% restocking fee for something that's not made then I'll let Visa deal with it. I've spoken with Guy a couple of times on the phone and I found him likable to talk to and he was happy to answer a few questions I had. By contrast, I accidentally caught Robinson Armaments owner on the phone once when calling into their shop and wanted to strangle him.

I still have a couple of months left to see if I get burned.

^ Proof that the scam works.

He should be grinding and not talking.

Who are you trying to convince? They've re-invented themselves 6-12 times in the last 8 years. And nothings changed except the shills.

Here's the real world- 3 weeks ago I ordered a Carothers Performance Knife. I told them the style, handle and sheath I wanted. 7 days after paying it was in my possession- UPS Ground takes 7 days for delivery.

You- You're 6 months out on an item listed as "In Stock" with a 90 day delivery.

Social Media-bots? Russian disinformation?

"Bunch of handles here for micro-texturing..."
Bunch? There's like 20-30 on that shelf. Shouldn't there be a hundred or so? Where are the rest? Waiting for people to order knives so they can buy the scales for the knives already ordered, that should have been delivered years ago?

Why is he on youtube yapping, when he apparently is still the choke-point in getting knives out? He should be sharpening blades!!!

Who is Shane? What does he do? Is he the new social-media guy? The cameraman?

Bummer, Jake didn't make it to weld on fixtures for the 12's. I guess those will be done in another couple years or so, now. Man.... if only Jake had got the welding done... they could have had those finished next week.

Crap... sheaths don't fit. Back to the drawing board. Another year delay.

GSO 3.5s in 20CV finished soon [translated: we'll get them out before 2025].

They're going to get the bevels done in the next couple of weeks, WHILE they're finishing grinding fixtures? And they'll be way ahead? Of what? What are they smoking?

They have a CRAP-ton of unfinished blades laying around there! They're stacked up like drying cord-wood. And not one single mention of the GSO-5.1 run that was pre-ordered 5 years ago, before his Tactical Steak Knife had even manifested itself in his fevered brain!

So they're going to start machining the handles for the GSO 4.5, the TAK 4.5 and TAK 5 (is that what he said?). NONE of which had been conceived, or talked about, before the GSO 5.1 that is still .... no mentioned.

So...isn't that "VF2SS" a CNC machine? Who is their CNC programmer? Or is that someone they still have to hire?

People want to see them using stuff? Could he perhaps have misinterpreted the "stuff" we want to see them using? I personally would rather see them "using" their manufacturing equipment. I can take care of using their knives myself.

OH! They were in "limbo" for three years. So my GSO 6 and 5.1 were/are only 2 years late! Well, that makes all the difference in the world.

Well, next video explained who Shane is. And I think Shane made the understatement of all time in THAT video: "you guys have a TON of work to do" [paraphrased].

Edited again to add:
The "next" video I mention above was posted 4-22. Yesterday. Thursday. Figuring it was taken the day before it was uploaded (or even if it was same day), that was either Wednesday or Thursday. Um.... why is it just as quiet in the shop as it was on Sunday? Why isn't there a bunch of grinding and machining going on?

Oh.... you shut the entire shop down to "ambush" Shane to talk about the Millet issue?

COME ON!!!!

GET. TO. WORK!!!!

Imagine that? Ship me a knife in a month just to hook me into sinking money into more, that's diabolical.
It's pretty much how a Ponzi scheme works. Use the money from the folks that have been waiting 4 years for their knives to make one and ship to a new customer so they'll order a few more and stay on the hook as the waits get longer and longer until you're worrying about paying a restocking fee for a nonexistent knife that you ordered 10 months ago that said it was arriving in 90 days.

The "owner" of that Survive Knives "business", is a F'n thief. That's all there is too it... bUt hIs kNiVeS! Keep supporting thieves, ya turkeys

so,i ordered a 3.5 in late 2015,i believe...

last week i sent them a DM on IG asking where my knife is.

answer: it's actually finished and they'll send it out next (this) week.

i hope i can still enjoy the knife after all this.

You ask him why he couldn't sent it out last week, since it was finished?

I sincerely hope that you get your knife and can enjoy it, but that's one of the aspects of Survive! that just kills me. There are incredibly in demand custom makers putting out legitimate works of art that I could commission a knife from if I was willing to wait six years. No matter how good the quality is from Survive! they're sure as hell not anything on that level.

And just to add, I'm not sure how one enjoys owning a knife knowing it was made by scamming thieves, on the backs of other knife enthusiast's anguish. Too each their own I guess...

I will say this if they got in the door 6 years ago how well known was the issue or was it even as much as a whisper yet then? Those individuals eventually got a knife they paid for at many pains and with a tainted name yes but I would say if I ended up a purchaser and knowing things too late I would probably be stuck with the knife as I wouldn't try and pass it on it would remain solely my shame but the knife would be used to the best of its abilities and to the satisfaction of my wallet and my honor.

i don't know if they stole from anybody...like i said,i ordered back in '15 or '16. it's been so long,i don't remember. if i knew back then i wouldn't order.

i have yet to see somebody they didn't deliver their knife..very,very delayed, yes.

not trying to protect them or anything.

and yes,i've read all the survive threads on BF.

Taking money, not delivering, and using the money for something else is theft in my book. It is a ponzi scheme at worst, or at best a fraudulent interest free loan.

Bernie Madoff could have made everyone whole, he just needed a little more time and some faith

Until every person has their knives or money, survive is a thieving scam company, no proof otherwise.
