Bad Survive! Deserves A Permanent Post In The Hall Of Shame

We can agree to disagree, buying into a company that has a reputation like survive did, after being warned, I think says enough about Jon. The $$ he envisioned overrode everything else and he became complicit. He could have bailed and blew the whistle with what he knew a while ago, did he? No. He encouraged sales.
This is where I'm at with it. Jon realized that if he wanted to be able to squeeze some blood from this stone for himself, he was going to have to set aside whatever ethics he possessed and assist Guy in continuing the grift. Plain and simple.

The thing that surprises me is that there isn’t some kind of law that protects people from, essentially, becoming the bankroll assuming all the risk of a company failing.
there's laws for taking people's money on product and not delivering it ever. problem isn't lack of laws it's enforcement of laws. always been the issue. so many laws on the books you could start reading them now and be dead before ya finished.......

guy couldn't even do a ponzi scam right. had he used new money to make some of the old waiting customers knives little by little...it would have been closer to a ponzi scam. problem is he never made their knives or kept track of it.

craytab is right...guy was living better than he could have, off the money he took from unsuspecting buyers. he also seemed from what we've been told to take product on credit from equipment and raw product sellers and not pay them. since he wasn't busy making knives. maybe needed them as props to look like he was a knife maker? the mopbucket guy and random dawg walking around the warehouse just weren't enough to convince his defenders he was a really busy knife maker.....

all the videos, social media posts, lack of product being sent out the door, lack of workers working, etc should have given that away, but guess not to many folks who kept sending money.....

Jon (and apparently his dad) could have been super dumb and naive OR greedy and unethical OR a mixture of all those things. I am betting on the latter of the three options.

Regardless of if I am correct in my assessment of Jon's character and motives, I would NEVER trust him enough to purchase a knife from him. His self serving videos, throwing Guy under the bus and pleading ignorance and purity do not sit well with me. Especially considering how he treated people that pointed out the issues with S!K when he was shilling for them. He is not the main villain here, and he filled some knives that would have never been completed... but he also shilled for S!K and defamed NSM and PHT.

I have to wonder if all the money can be accounted for. This thing is a long ways from over.
Those machines cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Plus moving them across the country, and renting out a space with expenses in the 50k a month range. Then you think about the materials cost, wages for a few employees and so on. And that preorder cash is gone.

Wow....stopped paying attention to this saga for a while and now see there is a lot to catch up on.

I watched Guy's "What's Going on at Survive" video where he stated he was on a deadline from the PA state Attorney General. I think one of the HST videos mentioned that as well so it seems to have been a factor in bringing what has to be the longest running and one of the highest dollar scams the knife industry has ever seen to a close. Thanks to everyone who put in a complaint there. It took a lot longer than it should have but it worked out in the end.

Same for this thread. No idea how many people it reached but I know it was a top hit for a while when searching for Survive knives, so it certainly did not hurt.

Sad that this puts the nail in the coffin of a lot of preorders, but Guy was never going to deliver those knives even if he kept it going for another 100 years.

I received a reply from the Pennsylvania attorney general. Unfortunately they could not engage in voluntary arbitration with Survive! and as such my consumer complaint will be closed at this time. They will maintain my complaint on file in case more action is taken by the AG on behalf of the people of Pennsylvania.

From what I can read, all this means is that S!K did not agree to participate in arbitration.
I'm sure that was a foregone conclusion.

What you should really pay attention to is the last part, where the AG takes additional action, because we already know the AG is all up in S!K's business.

It's "arrears". Jussayin. 🤣
I stand corrected! And I’m a little miffed that r8shell r8shell didn’t mention anything!

Survive! Knives is deep in arrears.
Survive! Knives happens to also be deep in the rears.

ETA: also, look at how much good came out of that million dollar mishap of a company- I know know arrears.

I believe I did point it out at the time. Or maybe I just laughed quietly to myself.

"Well-well look. I already told you: I deal with the god damn customers so the engineers don't have to. I have people skills; I am good at dealing with people. Can't you understand that? What the hell is wrong with you people?"
