"The SURVIVE! GSO-8 came into existence because of Bladeforums member demand and design input. A group of Bladeforums members were looking for a camp knife that would be useful for a variety of general tasks but still large and robust enough to be chop-able; Something that would have much of the capability of the larger GSO-10 but in a more compact package. This design began as a creative challenge but since its completion the GSO-8 has quickly become one of our favorite designs. A huge thanks to the Bladeforums community for helping to make this design a reality."
The irony of naming bladeforums community on their website to pitch their latest ponzi presale as a Bladeforums community collaboration is beyond cringe. To top it off, "came into existence"??? It doesn't exist!

Since they can no longer pimp here they still use our good name. I say "our" as just a Joe blow contributor to knife discussion. Spark really is the only one with skin in this game. That said, survive! Is still showing themselves to be a snake in the grass. I wonder what @SURVIVE! Ellie would have say about this.Considering how SURVIVE! has been operating as a business, it should come as no surprise that they would reference to BladeForums to help sell preorders.
They should include a link to the Bladeforums Hall of Shame on their website!Considering how SURVIVE! has been operating as a business, it should come as no surprise that they would reference to BladeForums to help sell preorders.
You'd need a hundred times more "blahs" to make it sound truly familiar.Blah, blah, blah and blah
Sound familiar![]()
Well said.I too along with @Casinostocks was a believer in survive knives. And wanted to give them another shot after the first big blowup/meltdown over not meeting their obligations.
I still believe they make an exceptional knife but you will die of old age before you recieve it. The GSO 8 was designed demanded by the members of the survive forum and that has read the same ever since they put up the prototype pic when they did the original preorders.
To be clear, Im not defending their actions in anyway just stating it has been there ever since and was designed and wanted by the members of the survive forum here on blade forums.
That being said i feel like survive has let this forum and everyone who has supported them down by not meeting their very own goals repeatedly and continue to sell what doesnt exist. I have one more knife that i have waited on for going on 5 years and my patience is thin.
I hate that they ruined a brand for me and alot of others but most of all i hate that they seem to not care. Therefore i have come to hate and resent them for anything they did.
But since they have soured and overstayed their welcome in bladeforums and in many collections. So i would think of spark or whoever on bladeforums behalf told them to not use their name to promote their products they would have to remove it.
honestly, i wouldn't want my name or business associated with them either.

There is no justifiable reason to repeat that in their recent ad copy for a preorder knife when they've been shown the door here and they have outstanding orders of 5 years.Had to go and search.. You're right, they did say this back in August 2015 (or even earlier?)

Also, I agree with everything else you wrote!
Well said.
I think the huge problem with using the bladeforums name (besides the glaring issue spark would have with his business) is encompasses all of us. Sure you folks in the survive subforum had a part to play in the knife. Absolutely. But in their little press release, survive conveniently forgot to mention that the input on the knife was from a few, most members here despise them, and that their subforum was shut down (essentially exiling them) because of their scumbag business practices. They once again skipped the facts and put out horse snot to make themselves money. This time though, it's got spark's name and all members name's on it. What in the hell were they thinking? Reference the name of a community you have been shunned from? Stupid.
5 years waiting on a knife. Damn.

It's simply amazing.

Amazing isn't quite the word I would use, though, to be fair, this forum isn't the appropriate venue for the type of language I would use to describe Survive!, so you may have chosen well. There is no justifiable reason to repeat that in their recent ad copy for a preorder knife when they've been shown the door here and they have outstanding orders of 5 years.

It was difficult to choose so well in my wording.Amazing isn't quite the word I would use, though, to be fair, this forum isn't the appropriate venue for the type of language I would use to describe Survive!, so you may have chosen well.![]()
