Survive! Knives Heads Up

Can't you read it's only patina lol

My goal is not to misidentifying nor misinform potential interested parties but to give an accurate description the best I can and use as many tools as I can to provide accurate photos. I can use a macro lens to get into the marks on the blade so you can see it for what it is. I'm not attempting to elude anything.
It could be pitting, but I have not taken any steel wool or brush or use any abrasives in any attempt to try removing the marks. They look superficial. This is the condition I received it in and I'm only recouping the funds that went into this acquisition. Original owner said it had factory edge, even when I inquired in his original photos. With higher magnification, you can see it was not "lightly used" as he claimed. He may have tried slicing concrete or perhaps thick hangnails on his foot or another's. I am certain.
I acquired this in hopes I could use it and monetary compensation for a trade of an old spec. GSO 3.5, which never happened. I ended up buying one through a package deal for a 20CV and 3V combo. Which I am happy with in the end. GSO listing #1 was also acquired for the purpose of getting my unicorn, my holy grail. Now that I have my true love, I wish to place the 4.1s in good homes.

(editted for misspelled word "good," it was "goos")

I would definitely stay away from abrasives unless you're planning on polishing the whole knife.
Your post is definitely accurate so I wouldn't worry about that.

I laughed so hard when I read this :)
Thanks for the clarification and good luck with the sale. I'm really glad you have some GSO's that you love!

Ugly Betty 4.7CFV on the S/K! site for sale.
The first Ugly Betties!

It seems like there has been a lot more going out to customers in the last couple weeks

I am SK! Junkie ! Got one !

Nice, man! I'm anxious to see how ugly they actually are.

I'm sure there's good reasoning, but if they're just ugly yet still fully functional I was surprised to see they aren't covered by warranty.

The no warranty turned me off, but they were fairly priced. Congrats to those who got one!

Thanks for taking one for the team. I was hesitant too without a warranty but a review of how ugly they are may change my mind.

Lack of warranty concerns are valid. But for me, the sheer amount of junk with worthless warranties I've bought over the years exceeds the price of this CRUVUB many times over.

The main reason we aren't covering them under warranty is because they aren't something that we have a ton of and they are 40% off. We want to avoid a situation where someone orders an Ugly Betty then purposely breaks it in order to get a brand new perfect knife. If an Ugly Betty ever fails, we would encourage you to contact us. We will handle any of those situations on a case by case basis.

Ellie to the rescue! With her super human powers of clarity and logic she saves the day!

This makes total sense. I guessed that an ugly blemish wouldn't be a crack under the handle slabs :)

I'm not sure what it says about me that I didn't consider the "whoops I totally accidently damaged my ugly betty, can I get a brand new one now?!".

Very smart logic.
There are a bunch of incidents over on the ESEE page where guys intentionally damaged knives just so they could get new ones. There's no need for that nonsense.

Seriously? People tried to pull that shit?

Back in Survive! Baby! Yaay! snagged both the Necker II and the GSO 2.7. I'm gonna give the 2.7 to the Ex and ask her to stab me in the neck with it in case I ever make moves on her in a moment of desperation after a night of drunkenness finagling a booty call. I know the knife is sharp and that will prohibit me from doing stupid sh*t like that :D
