Survive! knives

Here is my humble collection. I love me some blaze orange. The leather sheath is a bushcraft dangler from Skystorm leather. It holds a 5.1 and a 1/2 inch thick fire steel. The bead on the necker is titanium and is from monkeyedge.com

I love that blaze orange myself. Here's my necker where I added Guy's lanyard to it in orange and black. Then I modded the blaze orange kydex sheath with my black custom belt loops to carry horizontal. It is the most convenient blade I've ever carried at work. Perfect position for one hand draw and return. I use this more than my necker.

Will a large Tek Lok properly fit a GSO 4.1 sheath?

thanks!

Yes, but when attaching to the slot either put the post head on the outside (as Hale Storm did with the Necker sheath above) or use a washer between the screw and sheath. The screw head right against the slot (especially the conical ones that come with the TL) can deform it. As long as you do that you can attach a large TL at multiple heights and angles.

Cool, thanks!

A question for Guy...

I just got my second 5.1 yesterday. I noticed that the stonewashing is more matte finished this time, as opposed to an almost stonewashed and then polished look that came from my first production run knives. Is there an intentional functional/design reason behind this? It doesnt matter to me as I think it looks even more tough and badass than the polished verson. The only other reason I could think of is that it was an issue of production cost. I assume that to get that polish you'de have to run down to a finer and finer media which would require more time and cost in the production. I could be wrong though. I love your blades man! Keep em coming.

When 4.1's are up for sale is there an option to have no jimping or is that a limited production run type of thing?

thanks!

Wow! That was fast and it looks perfect.

I am carrying my 4.1 in the IWB you had already made me today. I have been out on a trail with my boys all morning. It is nice to have concelment options in state parks especially near the city.

Can't help it, character flaw I suppose. I did call June awhile back, maybe I'll win the office pool?

Yeah, i spoke to to him about it and i'm digging it, it's more like a user knife, it kind of reminds me the competition finish minus the tumbled finish...i don't know if you notice but if you got the 5.1 in CPM 20cv, it's only $5 more as opposed to $10 when you purchased a 20cv 4.1

Normally there would be a polishing step that would brighten it up but we like darker finish more.

The GSO-4.1s with no jimping were a limited run but they were also victims of the wavy spines (check out this newsletter for more info on that). There are still a lot of them that will be available soon.

That's strange, I believe our extra charge for 20CV on any model has always been $5... Dealers may have added an extra charge to that. We also charge $5 for the other upgrades: ferro notch, bow drill divot, and then the handles vary in price depending on the cost of those materials.

Really? maybe it was on the M390? well, that just means I buy too much survive! knives that I don't even care how much you guys are charging. LOL
