Survive! knives

Ellie,
What is the status on the 3.5's? Are they shipping yet?

Just under two hours after asking this question I get a shipping notice... Ha! Squeaky wheel gets the grease or pure coincidence? No matter, can't wait for this blade. I love smaller knives and I think this knife was my most anticipated Survive! blade. I kind of feel like those guys in the sonic commercial that are trying to act like adults but lose it when their milkshakes arrive...

Congrats to those getting 3.5 notices, and please post pics upon arrival!

I ordered a couple of the SK-4son 5/2/14, package arrived 5/8/14. What a difference in-stock makes! Will post pics this week.
By the way, Survive! continues to deliver on out-of-box sharpness. The final grit is a bit low, but I was once again able to shave easily (no video this time). I'll be sure to make a video throwing it once I get a chance ;)

What do you mean by wavy spines?

thanks!

So this happened:

I believe the laser cutting was done too quickly, creating waves along the spine of the GSO-4.1s. With some light grinding along the spine we should be able to get those straightened out (before anyone asks: no, they won't have 90 degree spines. That would require taking too much material off).

Ha! Pure coincidence, for sure. We were able to get a lot of them packed up yesterday. Today will be more building but I'm hoping to send out a lot of shipping notifications tomorrow as well.

Can't wait to see some user pictures of the 3.5. It think it would be the ideal allround (edc) working knife!

I just posted these elsewhere, thought I'd include them here as well - black-out Survive! SK-4:

The micarta slabs get much darker with a little bit of oil, the handle screws on this one are actually tumbled but black-oxide screws are available on their website. It's a pretty wicked blade.

S7? Did I miss something? When did that happen?

They're 'on sale' right now, part of a Survive! initial endeavor at a "budget" line. By the way, the FDE coating on the website looks gray but on my other SK-4 it is more of a muddy brown, looks great with the 'natural' micarta scales. I'll post pics later this week. Also intending to post a throwing video.

I have a 4.1 with the bow divot and the firesteel notch. Both were used successfully to start a fire this weekend. Ok technically the firesteel and notch started the fire, but the bow was used to get hot enough to light off a firecracker, that counts. :D

Is this a 3.5 or 4.1?
