Survive! knives

Kiah-are the sheaths for the elmax 5.1s interchangeable with the newest ones?

Not perfectly with the knives as they come. They'd probably be usable, but the scales on the earlier ones were a bit slimmer at the guard, so they'd be loose in a new sheath and vice versa. If the scales on the earlier ones are switched for the newer scales, then maybe. The grind starts a bit closer to the tip on the newer ones which may make a newer blade in an older sheath problematic, but probably not the other way around. Let me look into it and I'll get back to you.

Just a quick update, since a month has passed since putting the CPM-20CV GSO-4.1 blade outside... Yep, I did mess up and say February instead of March in the video. Ellie just pointed it out to me. lol Time really flies.

Awesome vid. Although it would be nicer if you had a high def. camcorder so we could see better details. Still great job Guy.

Haha! I know and I'm sorry. I shoot my videos on my ipad. The quality is pretty decent and shooting/editing is quick. One day I'll get a better camera but that will probably come with a new employee. One that is more in tune with technology then I am. lol

I am looking for survival knife. The problem I was facing is tah the most of them is designed for men with big hands. the handles are too bulky and does not fit into my hand like it's belong to it.
And I did not see videos showing how the GSO ( or any other other survive knife ) handled by the women.
(Not that I saw all youtube videos existing in the world).
Does it mean women should not survive? you will be quit lonely, guys.

Is the GSO 4.1 and GSO 5.0 will fit into average woman's hand?

There are a few GSO 4.1 videos of a few women skinning up dinner ill find it an repost it for you. Survive Knives are coming out with a GSO 3.5 an day its a tad smaller the the 4.1

I don't know about the GSO 4.1 or 5 but I do have a GSO 7/7 which is comparable in size to my ESEE 6. The thing is, the GSO 7/7 has a much slimmer handle than the ESEE 6, it feels more like the smaller handle of the ESEE 4. I would wonder if the 7/7 handle compares to the 4.1 and/or 5.0 because if they are similar they might work for smaller hands.

From my experiences with the GSO 4.1 I would say that my best gestimate would suggest that it would work well for the average sized woman. It's a nice little fixed blade knife and the handles are on the smaller side so you get a yes vote from me.I hope that helps a little.

We'll work on some photos of the knives in a woman's hand but here is a review and some use from a woman over in the UK.

Also, here she is cleaning a rabbit and preparing it with a GSO-4.1

I have a GSO 5 and find the handles fairly slim on it . I think even the GSO 5 might be alright for a woman's hand . But knowing the GSO 4 is a little smaller , I'd say they would be a good fit for sure

HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS !

Hey so there have been a few woman asking about the the size and look of the GSO 4.1 in a woman's hand. around the knife/bushcraft forums. You should do a shot video with a GSO 4.1 in Ellie hand. If not ill get my girl to hold hers and play around with it. Just food for thought.

Some videos showed that the blade for coated with earth brown coat, I do not see this to be available to order.
It's also not options to order CPM 20CV. Is it no longer available?

I would call Survive on the phone if I wanted the options you desire.
The number I have for them is (717) 420-5977

Does anyone know if the "new version" of the tiny slicer they have has a sheath with comes with the kydex belt clip? I know the original one did and was $80 the new one on their site is less and only looks to have the sheath for neck carry.

The new price is lower because we are only selling it direct, from us to you. It was more important to me to have a lower price on the Necker than to make it available to dealers. The necker does have a belt clip on the sheath and also comes with a length of ballchain for neck carry.

@Taja, We have more GSO-5.1s in production, that should be finishing up soon, in both CPM-3V and CPM-20CV. The coating in the video was experimental, as are all of our current offerings if you find a coated blade. We are working on a really exciting development but that is still in testing right now.
