All riiiiight! Thanx for the update K!

I like everything about it:

Helle + Les Stroud + Cool North American Native name + similar to the Fjellkniven BUT full tang = Schweetness!

RR - On his site a signed version on preorder is 180.

I will wager this will come down quite a ways. I wouldn't mind checking one out. The viking is full tang and only 80 dollars - something like 120 makes sense.

Yeah.. I could do with out the signature... so minus about 80 or 90 bucks once it goes production... Helle makes a fine knife though.

I might buy one if they can get them to $100 or less. Helle is good stuff. Beautiful knives for sure.

I don't care about a signed version. I'd wear the signature off eventually.

Still kind of hard to shell out more than $100 for one though, when I can go here:

www.graywolfknives.com and get a full tang custom for under $100. No sheath, but that's no big deal to me.

Agreed. Under $100 and you've got my attention.

I like my Helle Viking also. Seems like a no nonsense knife and a stout little burger too.

Looks nice, but kinda underwhelming. Definitely costs too much at the advertised price.

Hey! That's NICE!

I wouldn't pay 180, but if it actually retails in the 120 to 140 region with a sheath that will be a good deal.

That would be cheaper than the Spyderco Bushcraft which is the only other production fulltang bushcraft right?? Also the blade looks thinner so a better slicer than the spyderco.

If you're talking purely scandi grind, there is the Enzo Trapper in O1.

If you are willing to accept a good flat or convex, then there is the Enzo Trapper in D2, and the Fallkniven F1, both of which I would say are true bushcrafters, and full tang (although i suppose some would balk at admitting the F1 is full tang). Then there are a couple of EKA knives as well. But, all of those have blades that are thicker than this one appears to be.

Looks good to me. So, is that a full-half tang???? Hard to see from the pics if thos pins actually go through the tang or not...Confused, but I like it.

It is a mortised tang. One piece of wood with a mortise cut in it. I hope the pins go through the tang.

Just for your library – negative. There's the hideous 350010 from Marttiini. It's beneath you - stupid thick, machete hard, and childishly designed. Some details. Curiously, I suspect the conspiracy of rubbish for bushcraft attributes would actually make it a tougher and better survivor-man knife than the one that is the subject of this thread. Strange world.

It looks nice, but not for $180 when I can get customs for that. Once the price goes down, they we can talk ;)

So what we need to do is take one of these, and then take another Helle of the same blade length but hidden tang and run them up against each other.

I actually like the design on that knife. I wish they'd take the edge completely back to the handle and use a better grade of steel. I'm guessing that with an RC of 53-54, that knife is made from 420 stainless. Make that thing out of 1095 with an RC of 57-58 and I'd buy one.

That is really nice looking and I would like to purchase one , but not for a weeks worth of groceries for the family.

Love the looks of it, but like everyone else, the price is too high. If it comes down within the range of other Helles I'd certainly consider it.

What he said... I does make me wonder, If Cody and Mora got together would we get a $35 Mora? :)
