Survivors: other knives you like

Randall Made Knives is the one that I kept coming back for more. It is where I started too.

This is my #15 in SS next to my 5.1 in 20CV. I prefer SS as the local climate and my sweat cause my knives to rust fairly quickly.

It is very comfortable. I am hoping for it to be a nice camping/ hunting blade paired with my gb sfa. It's a bit small to be a stand alone camp knife.

That's such a classic looking knife.

Busse krinkle coat. It's pretty rough when new, and very durable. Smooths out over time and with use though.

I prefer Busse satin finish so I got Nathan Creech to help satin my TGLB when Busse stopped making them in CF. I think Nathan has stopped providing mod service now. It is really a pity that the CF option is gone.

Here is my TGLB splitting durians on one of my hikes.

Ahh ok! I had to zoom in on that photo to check it out. I can tell that the center knife is fairly smoothed out.

I can see how there's a lot less drag with that satin finish. I used to have an issue with the ESEE texture and that's nothing compared to that crinkle coating.

What are the durians, Don? Edible, I take it? A pity is exactly the right word to describe the competition finish being done away with. Goes to show that uninformed folks can sure mess up a good thing for the rest of us.

Yep, that coating really slows down the choppers. I generally use them a bit, and then strip them when they start getting marked up. But it does help to keep the price down on the CG (combat grade) models. That's where the best of both worlds was on the comp finish, cheaper and uncoated, although left with tooling marks.

CG model from coated to stripped:

HK, durian is the king of fruits! Yes, defiantly edible but not everyone will like it. It is very sweet and has a really strong smell. It is my favorite fruit. You can only find it in Asia.
