Sword Posting Mega thread? What sword are you....carrying? Swinging? Chopping/cutting with?

Wow absolutely fantastic post. I lean more medieval for sure, but i love Tantos, and that one is a beauty. And i was just reading an article earlier today about chinese swords, so that dao is sick. I'd love to get at least one or two Jian/Dao replicas one day.

I've also read a handful of xianxia style progression fantasy novels in recent years, and the main characters almost always use these types of swords, so always fun to see.

Thanks! I found that Chinese style swords and swordsmanship are the best types for using titanium alloy.

Hell yeah, love the unique katanas. There are a few "tactical" style ones i always saw on BudK as a kid that I never quite got around to buying, likely for the best.

so far I am definitely happy with it. it's an excellent cutter and has a great differential heat treat.

Got a nearly no named medieval style sword off of ebay a couple days ago. Very Windlass styled. Definitely a bit vintage and far too heavy, but great for what I paid.

It does ring a bell. Is it a 5/16x18 thread? Or 1/4x20? I can't quite tell from the pic. Del Tin had one iirc, similar pommel profile

Del tin makes a lot of nice swords. The pommel is about 90% of the reason I picked it up, the seller also had a more generic wheel pommel variant too.

One of my first replicas was a Museum Replicas mounted Del Tin blade. Another sword I shouldn't have let go. Came from Craig Johnson as a private sale back on the old Highlander board.

A great sword

Awe yeah thats great, a terrible loss im sure. I love the pommel.

Yes, its the Gottfried. Kult of Athena had it with the red scabbard and that enticed me.

Very nice, I have had my eye on their offerings for a while. They seem to be good quality and reasonably accessible. Did it come sharp? How does the handle feel?

Very sharp. The handle is fine in my eyes, i just had to adjust how i was holding it. Too close to the quillions and your hand hits the bottom of the nagel and that is massively uncomfortable, though not an issue if wearing gloves. Obviously their whole aesthetic is "handmade german peasant sword" so the finishing is rough on purpose, but it doesnt bother me.

Dang, I was hoping you'd say it was terrible. Now I just want one more.

Cool thread. I find great joy in beating the crap out of my swords. Old furniture, saplings, big trees. Stress relief and zen when I’m out tearing stuff up. I have added a few in my collection but recently thinking about getting rid of most. When one does everything better than the others. IMG_1141.jpeg
