Hardness: 61 HRC
Blade Length: 13.25"
Handle Length: 6.25"
Blade height: 1.24" at the base, and 0.95" where the belly starts.

Handles on this pair of commissioned pieces are Bolivian Rosewood, with black G10 and natural canvas liners, carbon fiber spacers and a central GripX inlay.
 
Is anyone familiar with this type of wide katana?

I am now, thanks to my friend Z zaedion who challenged my knife making limits by designing one for me to make. It’s not exactly a katana. We call it Kaijutana.

3 Katana: Minamoto Norikuni from 1978, unknown in the middle and the papered Kashu Iehira on the bottom. The Kashu Iehira is around a 26" blade...the top one is around 28.5" blade!
