Hey guys, I'm itching to get one of these, they look like just about the perfect EDC. Quick question: for those of you outside Europe who ordered from Lionsteel directly, did they still charge you the 19% VAT (i.e., the full 196 EUR for the G10 or 280 EUR for the Ti/CF)? Since I'm in the US, they shouldn't charge the VAT, but their website doesn't say explicitly that VAT will be waived for overseas customers.
I just purchased the black g10 version. This will be my very first lion steel. I havnt heard much about these knives but got an email saying they were in stock through an online dealer so i checked them out and it looks like my kind of knife. Light, g10, flipper, 3inch blade, good steel, frame lock. Cant wait! Hows the detent and action on these? I know lion steel is not really known for flipper, hopefully this is a nice one.
I definitely glad I went with the G10 version. I almost got the carbon fiber but I wanted something with a bit more grip. Has anyone removed the pocket clip on there's yet? I like to carry my small folders with out a clip but when I take the clip screw out I haven't been able to dis lodge the clip.

Hello fq55, it seems you can't remove the clip. I tried, also without success.
I had a CF TRE on order but eventually decided in favor of the Ti blue...however, that was out of stock at the moment, so my order was cancelled for the time being. I'm awfully glad it was now, after reading all of these stories about weak detents; I'm a serious flipper junky, and while I can get by with a weakish one, it severely impacts my enjoyment of the knife.
Is there any way we can find out some clear identification of the "flipper detent" models? Lot numbers, serial code ranges, production dates, anything? Being able to positively ID one of these later-model units would make me much more comfortable ordering a TRE in the future.
Can someone post the details about mailing the knife in for repairs? Does it need to go back to Italy, or what? Do they need any packaging or proof of purchase? I emailed lionsteel a few days ago and haven't received a reply.
I'd wait a bit until more information is available. The G-10 flipper-only models flip well.
Same issue here. Once you get the screw your can't dislodge the clip. Perhaps it needs to be pulled out but I'm not going to risk damaging it.

I did and was told to email them model numbers being returned, ship to DPx Gear in San Diego and once received to email LionSteel the shipper tracking number. I've done all that on TRE BL (titanium blue) and TRE FC (CF). It was received by DPx on Thursday afternoon and I emailed LionSteel. Right now, waiting for a response. I believe the replacements are shipped from Italy.
Write to info@lionsteel.it you will have all the info.
I emailed you guys 6 days ago, and never got a reply. Wouldn't it be easier to make a thread(sticky) or post with all of the relevant information, and then link it here? It would probably save people a lot of extra hassle. Anyway, I guess I'll send another email and try again.
Yes of course that you can move the clip from one site to the other.
Follow these steps:
- take away the clip screw (it is in the opposite side of the clip)
- push out the screws in from the opposite side of the clip.
- after that you can take away the clip.
- remember that when you fix the clip the screw MUST be always in the opposite side of the clip
