Tacticlol Knives II: The Return of Ridiculous

Anyone not believing that should check out the official USMC bowie (KABAR knockoff) with BudK and the rest of the sorry USMC line.

Glad I got an Ontario SP1 instead of that $20 garbage, the positive reviews for some of these items, and amount, just due to branding, is insane..

the mall ninja aesthetic always didn't make much sense to me...

it's much the same with expensive clothing, or when the imitator brands try to act like their logo is somehow a mark of quality, and insist on making it bold / very visible / often large... it just comes off as tacky, and never is a sign of quality...

actual expensive quality clothing doesn't need to rely on a logo to tell the rest of the world... they use actual cut & quality fabrics & perfect seams to show it
Someone tell TOPS knives that. Their quality seems to be good but they have that Nike-esque branding on top of that ”I definitely don’t have a small penis” marketing style. They could be so much more with so much less.

Agreed - their marketing and nomenclature is a bit over the top (although they have toned down a bit as of late), and is my only "complaint" with the dozen or so TOPS knives I own.

you know - mtech are getting better models these days - some of them actually look nondescript if you can believe it

(maybe they're figuring out that bling & over the top visuals are not popular?....)
... of course they still sell these:

⬆️Maybe it’s a left handed knife?
This is the final exam, at knife sharpening school.

Meet the Swiss Panorama Knife. These have been around for a couple of years now..knives with their edge ground to resemble famous mountain ranges. I get cold shivers down my spine, every time i see one.

Just two examples. There are many more

I spent some time in an engineering capacity (application)
When this concept was presented, Im pretty sure I’d have blown coffee out both nostrils.

Augh! No. Just, no. Just... not. Was there some kind of behavior-altering substance involved in this? I'm more offended by this than by all the Richmade stuff because he's just some guy and he probably doesn't have anybody there in his workshop asking him questions to try and keep him grounded. This was made by a Serious Company with Serious Adults who do Serious Business, and the idea that it got through all the layers of "sanity check" that should be involved in that kind of organization further depletes my already almost nonexistent faith in humanity.

The idea that you would even think about using one of these as an actual KNIFE is laughable. They're collector's items. Novelties. Display pieces. In that light, they lose a little too much of their ridiculosity. Nice try...

Okay, that's fair. With the wood handles and all, they look utilitarian enough otherwise. I guess I got baited?
