Talk about a Busse Folder.

Yeah, don't close my poor little folder thread... we just want some folding INFI. Who cares about other companies?

Where's Guyons pic of the folding Battle Mistress??? THERE'S a Folding Busse I can admire! :D :D :D

Too heavy??? Never!!! No such thing as too heavy in the Busse vernacular!!!!!!

Blasphemy!!!!! :p

You got small pockets! Time to find a new tailor!!! :p :p :p

Find some Busse pockets!

I took up two of my custom Busses to Knob Creek that were done by Reese Weiland. First up is an AK that he made a custom guard for the sword! It of course has the AK INFI Blade that was satin with polished edges and a razor edge put on it, but the guard is made out of one piece of 1" thick stainless steel that was laser wire cut to fit. Matching Pair of Blue Mammoth Ivory handles.

Second is a Dual Action Tactical Automatic with an INFI blade. It is all Titanium and Carbon Fiber and the blade is from a Busse Blade! All of the Titanium was gold anodized. I got a lot of favorable comments from those that handled both of the blades.

So we can send an infi blade to Reese Weiland and end up with a sick INFI folder???

How do I contact him?

I can barely afford INFI from the factory, nevermind INFI to have chopped up by a custom knife maker!

Exactly, if I can't use them they are no good to me....

The only reason I bought 2 of them was because I thought they were covered........ NOT.... :grumpy:

Almost $300 in the garbage..... :grumpy::grumpy:

NEVER EVER AGAIN....

My $60 CS Voyager had gone though a lot more hard use than they ever did. ;)

And my very old Recon 1 has taken a ton of abuse over the years too. :D

For sure. I have seen an old Recon force a car lock, by simply putting the tip into the lock and applying pressure and twisting. That same kid later used the Recon 1 to pry the door panel open from the outside of his old beater car. Both times up on a mountain, where there was no lock smith, and no cell phone, and the only other option was to break a window in the dead of winter and then have to drive all the way home with no window.

I won't buy any knife I don't think will take some reasonably hard use. I specifically really don't like spider holes because I think that particular design makes for a weaker blade.

In an Infi folder, I would love something really robust in the locking mechanism. I really like some of CS's locks. Axis lock, triad lock, even the plunge lock in the pocket bushman is super strong.

I would really love a one piece handle machined out of titanium, so no scales to come loose or screws to loose. There are several manufacturers out there doing this, and I think it makes for the best strength. A mono block titanium handle, with a plunge style lock like the CS pocket bushman (except make it easy enough to unlock with one hand).

I think Jerry just needs to release a titanium handled version of the Proto folder, which I thought looked awesome.

Thanks for the support, but we were warned by Amy to be nice and keep the thread on topic. :D

That said....

I think you are correct, Jerry really does need to make one and send it to me to test. :D

230 - Sebenza meets Boss Street. U could probably do it urself?

It wouldn't be too hard, BUT I wouldn't want to butcher two good knives to make one inferior knife.

What attracts me to Busse choppers isn't what attracts me to a Busse folder.

A busse folder IMO would be hardened higher like the BAD, I don't need a chopping folder. I'm just interested in the locking mechanism more than anything.

Gottcha and I agree about the higher hardness. I wasn't thinking of altering the sebenza handle BTW. I would not touch one of them.

Anyhow, I would like to see a framelock with a stabalizer.

Altought the sebenza to me does not need a stabalizer due to a thick relief cut in the frame lock. EKI framelocks have a thin relief cut.

That's my two choices in folders. I feel the Sebenza is the perfect utility folder and the EKI's are the perfect SD folder.

I like simple for my folders :)

With that said, I would buy a Busse folder with a higher hardness, tough and SECURE lock and I wouldn't even care about a warranty.

I have never used a folder as a fixed blade so I don't need it to be built for chopping or battoning either but I never mind overbuilt knives unless the design becomes obtrusive.

Good discussion ;-)
