TechStudio K01 Profile Sharpening System

I didn't make the cut either. In the email it stated that the next batch will be shipping next week.

Don't know if I ordered a case I assumed it came with one.

It comes with the wood box, the plastic carrying case is separate.

If you did not get an email you are not getting yours in this shipping batch and yours will likely be going out in the Nov/Dec lot. I am guessing the increased demand put them behind as they had a picture of pallets of boxes ready to be shipped.

hi. anyone who has this system can measure the slit opening in the "sliding unit" for the clamps?

Did you order yours with a case?
Here's the translation with their last reply on a Russian forum:
"Current orders batch are being packed, shipment will be done from 10 till 13th of october, tracking numbers will be available on Thursday-Friday. Gift sets with cases will be sent out 14-15 (cases are on their way)."

I'm also a bit concerned, I've asked them last Friday on what's the status of the order (which should've been sent out on 10th) but didn't get any reply.

Could someone with a list please PM me, don't need a full list, just a search by first name would suffice (mine is a bit weird so there should be a match if it was sent out)
I tried to send you the list but there was some problems. But I emailed it to bladegunner and perhaps he can help you out. Otherwise I could send it to you if you give me an email address.

Added you to friends, not sure how to send PMs on this forum, hopefully that will work.

They did not say that the Nov batch will have improvements, it might.
The current batch already has these changes.

Here's the rough translation:
K02 once again gone through a range of modifications: new solid milled fastener for ?ЭУ? with an ability of precise adjustments, new screw-nut that sets the hardness of the rotation, material of supporting axis changed to more solid stainless steel, minimum friction in rotation and clear sound in the action of rotating swivel.

Well someone is lying now.
I asked Cody personally if i can use his name for the K02 Standard Kit. He don't mind if i remove the name immediately if he asks. I would never use his name if he is against, it doesn't make any sense.

Not really concerned with the above post. I'm curious if the conical clamps would replace the normal double clamp? No tools necessary? Seems like the way to go. If anyone has experience with these I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Or is it just being lazy and just go for the standard?

I'd like to envision this sharpener to last me for years, so if there's a feature to make it more user friendly why not.
Conical clamp it's just convenient make to tighten the screw and nothing more. It's absolutely the same to standard double clamp except of the way of tightening.

This question is for tsprof: Do you offer diamond stones? I thought you did but I dont see them listed anymore.
Yes, we have the diamond stones. Two double sided 25% diamond stones ~200mm long made in Russia costs 50$

Bodog rant retracted.

85 does seem expensive but I would expect shipping on a small knife to cost 35-45 bucks. I'm guessing with the large dimensions and hefty weight would bring that number up.

It's possible they've added insurance to protect themselves better. I know I'd be nervous shipping a heavy metal item in a wood box across the globe.

I feel a little burnt because I just paid 85 as well. Trying to make myself feel better having paid full tittie.
We dont add extra cost to shipping, 85$ it's EMS Russian Post rates, EMS it's the cheapest way and it takes just 10-14 days. The parcel usually weight about 11kgs dimensions are 25x35x50mm

I must say that I am not impressed with the way that Paul notified people that theirs had shipped... He sent out a mass email saying that some had shipped and the rest would go out this week.. And he listed EVERYBODY by full name and gave their tracking number.

Quite unprofessional in my opinion.
Sorry for that, it is the way our information system works, the problem is solved now all coming tracking numbers will be sended separately

Thank you for the translation. ?ЭУ? - digital angle gage
Recently we've got a new CNC equipment and many of the coming improvements will be related to the new more precise and robust machines.

As for the October batch, 2/3 of all orders is shipped, another 1/3 is coming soon.
The October batch is a little delayed, sorry for the inconvenience and many thanks for patience, feel free to contact me anytime.

Tsprof, awesome you're taking the time to answer questions! Can't wait to get my hands on the system ☺️

Thank you for good feedback! The clamps are hardened to 30-35 HRC. Clamping force ~100Kg for single clamp. Here is an angles table for different clamps:

Paul (tsprof)...

1. I have lots of large knives 1/4 in. thick or more. Can you show the "extension plates" used with the single clamp that accommodate up to 7mm thickness knives?

2. Since some of these knives are quite long, I assume the double clamps would be preferable, are there extension plates for the double clamps?

3. Can you just machine some custom thicker clamps?

4. What would be your recommended configuration for large knives equal to or over 1/4 in thick and with blades 7 - 14 inches for example?

Thanks, for any reply and congratulations on a well made product.

Plus one to all of mach 5 questions, Once the jaws are adjusted to accomodate thicker and longer blades I am going to hop all over this!
Are larger jaws being worked on for the near future? In the next few months?

1. Since i wrote about the extension plates the design is changed and now there is no need to use the plates, regular single clamp supports up to 7 mm (~1/4') thick blades
2. There is no extension plates for double clamp but you can setup two single clamps in one double clamp to get a configuration like that:
13615069_1762467547332334_7872393885310781761_n.jp g

3. It's possible but consider the setup mentioned above it allows blades like kukri, enough for majority of tasks
4. Two single clamps stacked in one double clamps, flat table attach, longer abrasive holder (it's easy to machine individually by request), i would consider diamond stones for long and thick blades

How soon is soon? any date estimates?
Most of the orders already sent, I have 15 tracking numbers not published yet and 25 units will be on the post today. lasting 35 units planned to this week.
Next batch is planned to early December.

Hey Ankerson, how well do the grinderman SIC stones work on s90v?
Consider diamond stones for s90v
